someone shaved one of our perma-10s down to 9 so I took advantage. it's in a pain in the ass place to mess with (have to walk) so people tend to leave it alone. luckily this gym had 2 Espeons at the bottom so I took my Umbreon and went to work and was done fairly quickly and with like 20 items used. now my 3008 CP Dragonite sits at the top of a level 10 gym, a first for me. I'm now in half of my team's perma-10 gyms. hopefully I can squeeze into the others soon and guarantee 60 coins a day. once college is out for the summer I suspect Valor will die (all 3 of my city's college gyms are perma-Valor) and I'll be able to collect 80+ coins regularly with zero effort. tried out a few other things, thought I'd pass it along: - Pound Wigglys (Play Rough or Hyper Beam) are still incredible. I took down 2 2400 CP Dragonites with a single 1000 CP Wiggly. they're super beefy and hit like tanks. - this is obvious but you gotta get a Bite Tyranitar. Mine is Stone Edge (very powerful move) for charge but that thing is incredibly fun to attack with. my 2100 one was at 3/4 health after facing a 3200 Dragonite. can't imagine what he'll be like when I max him.
Yeah I just find it hard to get excited. Don't get me wrong now that the weather is nicer I'm walking a lot more but I refuse to use my 3 use incubators on 5ks so it kinda stagnates a bit. Wish you could pay the game like 150 coins to clear out your eggs and start fresh
lolwut. you only use incubators for 10k eggs? I'm sure some of you are opposed to spending money on this game for various reasons but 10 bucks a month gets you 24 egg hatches. even if all you do is incubate 3 eggs at a time(I only do 4-6 at a time myself depending on how many 2k/5k I have) at least you're moving the process along so you can get to those 10k. or work some gyms quick. 3 gyms a night will net you 900 coins in a month, enough for 18 egg hatches. you could do that and spend 5 bucks on the game and do about 30 5k/10k hatches a month plus whatever your infinite generates. I relish the 5ks. when your bag has 5, 6, 7 2k eggs in it and you're slowly churning them out and hoping the next stop you spin won't just replace it with another 2k that's what I hate.
Yeah I just feel like it's almost a waste to use one of them on multiple 5k eggs. Every time I redeem a 3 use incubator my goal is to get 25k out of them minimum
had never looked at it that way really, interesting. to be frank since I started using the alerts eggs are just stardust to me now. occasionally I'll get something useful but I just want dat dust. unless there's a Steam sale this game usually is 100% of my entertainment budget so it's whatever to me. if summer works out like I think and I can start banking 100 coins a day I'll stop spending money entirely as 3000 coins a month will be more than enough.
What it must be like to live in a place where gyms last for days at a time. Every gym around me changes every couple hours. Getting a Pokémon in 2 gyms at a time is a great day for me.
definitely a benefit of a smaller city and a smaller hardcore population. the map is very funny to look at, it's like an uneasy truce between 2 warring clans. there will be occasional skirmishes, usually brought on by outsiders and almost instantly rebuilt, but both sides have figured out it's better to have 4-6 reliable gyms a day than constantly be working on them. there's a bunch of gyms outside of downtown that constantly trade hands 5-10+ times a day and that's where Instinct players hang as well. but yea, it's nice although occasionally annoying like having guys in there for a month and leveling in that time. I had a Snorlax stay so long recently I got 4 powerups into him when he finally got taken down.
Goddamnit!!!! spun for Meatball just now and he got a Metal Coat. That's two days in a row I got him something that I can't seem to acquire for myself...Fuck
i really hope the evo items arent based on a time of day, because im spinning so much and i'd like to think i just have bad luck and its not that i should've been there an hour earlier or something.
well...I got both of them kinda around the same time but I've been spinning those same stops for days with my account and haven't gotten shit.
There's a 100% close combat/struggle bug heracross 10 min away from me right now... part of me wants to go get it, the other part is like "you don't do gyms and have plenty of heracross already."

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa boy Starting at 1 p.m. PDT on March 22, 2017, more Water types are headed to Pokémon GO! Look for the Water-type Pokémon Magikarp, Squirtle, Totodile, and their Evolutions to appear more frequently all around the world. Additionally, when you're out exploring areas where Water types commonly appear, you'll have a greater chance to encounter several of the Water-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region. If you're fortunate enough, you might even encounter Lapras! The deluge of Water-type Pokémon will last until 1 p.m. PDT on March 29. Good luck discovering more of these Pokémon around the world in Pokémon GO. Emphasis my own. Don't be expecting more Dratini, those are water biome not Water type. still, go make you a Gyarados and a Feraligatr.
Still don't even have a totodile. Caught my first Chikorita yesterday though. I walk by a canal to and from work so I have 4 Gyarados but I'll take another hava
Just hatched a shellder haven't seen or hatched one since my first month of playing and I was on vacation in Florida
Fucking kill me. I hatch a Tyrogue and get excited because I've only hatched Hitmonlees. Its highest attribute is attack, so another Hitmonlee
anything in the 90s is fine to me but you can bottom out in the 80s. I have a 91 Dratini that will turn into a 2983 Dragonite and my 98 Dragonite is 3008. that's like half of a power-up's difference. although it is fair to point out that the Attack IV influences CP slightly. I have a 96 Dragonite that will max at 3004 because it's 15/14/14 but the 96 Dragonair I just caught is 13/15/15 and will max at 2997 so there's some slight give in the IV but not a huge amount. if you can get hold of something over 90 then absolutely do it. I have the luxury of these alerts which is why I get picky. I've only seen the one 98 I believe but 96 pops up often enough that I can just wait until I get one that's high level. my first one was an 84 and it's right at 45 CP lowers than my 98 so you're talking about a 14% difference in IV being worth basically a full power-up which is right around when stuff ceases to be as viable to me. you can see if you make that same drop again down to a 70 IV it's now maxing a full level behind your 98. these IV guys like Rhydon, Ttar, Dragonite, etc. make IV matter a shitload. I have 2 maxed Rhydon, 96 and 82, and there's a 48 CP difference in them. I never understood the difference until I saw it in practice and I'd have never made the 82 if I did. then again, there's always more of them. if you can wait, do it. if you want a Dragonite now then make that bad boy and understand you'll make another anyway.
I'm very unimpressed as well. I like the extra Magikarp because more Gyarados is always good and I have a perfect hatched one I'm going to evolve next but the only reason I care about Squirtle or Totodile is because I want a couple high IV Squirtle to make some Blastoise for fun and I have a perfect Totodile that needs like 50 more candy for Feraligatr. I won't use those for anything though, it's just for fun for my collection. if I actually get Lapras spawns (in my city that never ever spawns Lapras) then my opinion may change. as of now it's whatever. I could get hundreds of Magikarp candy a day if I wanted but I'd have to go to those biomes so I'm hoping those biomes now come to me.
just hatched my first Lapras yesterday. There are 3 major parks here in Salem, 1 features an electric nest every other week, last 2 nests have been Electabuzzes and Voltorbs. 1 park has Onix (now have over 100 candies waiting for a metal coat) and the third park currently nests Snubbulls. The hospital I work out pretty much nests Psyducks, Slowpokes, and Magikarp
If I could get an electric and fire event I would be so happy. Water does nothing for me except help me to get 25 more totodile candy for feralgator. Wouldn't mind seeing a few gyarados and lapras around though. Will this affect hatches like the Valentine's event?
Apparently shiny pokemon might make debut in update today. Specifically shiny magikarp. Evolves into red gyarados. So if you see an odd looking one keep it and evolve it.
hell yeah, I hope to hit another Lapras...would be nice. Also looking for that perfect magarp....they are really hard to find
So I log in to Meatball's account to get him his streak-spin and sure as fuck it's his 7 day and he got a Dragon Scale. So keeping up to date....in 3 straight days He got a King's Rock, a Metal Coat, and now a Dragon Scale. I'm done helping that little shit
