Just RNG. Niantic doesn't prep for events like that anyway, they flip the switch and then stuff works. I also doubt they'll ever do anything to directly influence eggs like that because people would rail on them for essentially forcing people to buy incubators unless they wanted to walk 50-100k with the infinite incubator to clear out a lot of 10k eggs. the events are done to spur purchases sure, but never in such a way that you can't enjoy the event without it. people are speculating if we'll get an Easter event since that's a religious event and a good chunk of their playerbase isn't Christian or even religious. we'll probably get some sort of Spring event.
In this country, yes. Game is world-wide, though, just don't think you'll see it called an Easter event. For that matter, doubt you'll see any event tied to a religion or specific group of people, hence the holiday event not a Christmas one and the water event not a St. Patrick's Day one. We'll get an event, probably this month, and it'll just be called a Spring event. Earth Day is in a couple weeks so people have speculated we may get that as an event.
Well I had 3 5ks hatch on my run today. And I got 3 2k eggs to replace them. This game hates me. Please Pokemon gods give me a Snorlax above 480.
Will a heracross respawn in the same place? I just parked my car in the hotel lot got out turned the Pokemon on and there he was. That spot is not reachable from my room. Should I be going out there every half hour the rest of the night?
hatched a chansey, gligar, and caught an ~2500 snorlax, crap iv but whatevs, so far this morning 10k exp away from lvl 31 as well #trendingup
Hatched another chansey but it was 73 IV, so I just said fuck it and boosted my 86 Blissey with ZH/Psy

Have a bunch of incubators and a lucky egg with like 100 Pokémon ready to evolve. 4x xp here I come.
I have yet to hatch a larvitar. If I could hatch two during the event that would put me at likely 120 candy and be pretty darn great.
yeah everything i've read suggests if you hatch it while the event is going on it should still give you double the candies you would have received sans event also, iirc during the last double candy event, candy received from eggs that were incubating before the event and hatched during the event were doubled.
early reports suggest 2k eggs can have pokemon that are usually found in 5k or 10k now. also, appears no double candy from hatching, at least with old eggs anyway.
it says more candy not double candy. going to sit this event out, it's just a cash grab for incubators. might do a Lucky Egg evo spree but that's it.
Got to level 30 on my way home, then cranked out a lucky egg half hour. Probably have another 100ish evos to to. I'll probably get to 31 by the end of the event

Pretty great 26 hours (since the event started): -336k worth of xp from evos -hatched a togepi (to get a togetic), a Larvitar (now 10 candy away from Tyranitar) and got my Miltank -got 3 10k incubating I still have 40ish evos to go so hoping to line up another 30 evos to make a run by the end of the week
haven't had good luck with the 2k eggs so far. couple of sudowoodos, magbys, machop, shellder and a stantler. haven't spun any 10k eggs since the event either.
Every single 5k I've hatched that I've gotten during the event has been a gen 2 starter (chikorita, totodile, cyndaquil). Apparently they will be only 5ks for the rest of the event FYI
