I can't wait to never catch a Legendary because balls + golden razz won't be enough. jk I'll never catch them because whatever absurd number of people you need to do it won't happen together in my city. getting the 6-8 people you probably need (if not more) on an hour's notice just won't happen for me. maybe if they did it once a week or something and gave 24+ hour notice but I foresee almost no way I catch any legendaries. at least they're forbidden from gym defense. e: Legendary eggs take 50 hours to hatch, that's cool at least.
I'm guessing the exclusive raids will have a set time/location that you can plan in advance for. Where I live we regularly have 10+ show up for any Tyranitar raid that pops up, so it's not an issue...but I'm guessing that's certainly not the norm. Having a local Discord server/group helps as well. There's a guy here that runs one for all three counties in the area
same, caught 12 tyranitars after joining with the local discord group. one guy on there has caught 23 out of 25 ttars, with 2 being perfect IVs
There's one pokestop in my area and no one else seems to play; My apartment is literally on top of it and it got converted to a gym today so I'm just racking up coins with a Gyarados sitting in there.
My brother told me. I think you can generically look up Pokémon go groups on Facebook, especially for larger cities.
Rhydon and Snorlax raids aren't worth it anymore, Niantic nerfed their base catch rate from 20% to 5% after the first weekend of raids, they're basically as hard to catch as Tyranitars (minus the constant attacking)
So datamined code says the 3 legendary birds and Lugia will be released tomorrow AND they can be shiny
Raid Bosses have been buffed apparently. And three new boxes are in the coin shop that are actually pretty good. 480 coins: 6 raid passes 10 pinap berries 980 coins: 12 raid passes 20 pinap berries 10 lure modules 1480 coins: 16 raid passes, 30 pinap berries, 20 lure modules, 4 incense
lol GoFest in Chicago is a shit fest, 20k tickets sold, only 1 entrance with like 2 people handling checking in apparently
interested to see how that turns out. i'm sure plenty of people flew in from out of state and potentially country for that.
Apparently they are refunding all the money for tickets and giving coins to the users. I have friends there that are seeing Unowns but crashing before they can do anything or catch them.
"Due to degraded experience on overtaxed cell networks, Niantic will be offering full refunds to GO Fest ticket holders + $100 in PokeCoins."
what a monstrous clusterfuck and now nobody gets the legendaries. oh yea, about that: they've got a 2% base catch rate (lowest non-Abra rate is 5%) and it takes 20km for 1 candy. can't imagine how many people will be leaving raids beyond disappointed now.
when you launch a game there are a lot of unknowns about how many people will actually use the game at any given time and what not, so it's easy to see how the new always online games screw up so bad at launch and have connectivity issues. but with a year of user data under your belt, and a limited number of tickets sold, you still can't figure out how to get enough server support and bandwidth in the area for your app and the wifi hotspots you setup, nor having the right amount of support by the major cell networks for that area... i'm kind dumbfounded by how they screwed it up that bad. the whole point was to be online on your cell phone the whole event and they managed to mess that up completely. amazing. wouldn't be shocked if it makes national headlines and there's a lawsuit if they dont fix things quick (probably too late now).
last quick thought: i never thought i'd see pokemon go screw up as bad as they did with the launch of this game... i'm honestly kinda shocked they managed to possibly beat that screw up.
I'd never blame them for the launch, you're talking like a hundred million downloads within the first month or something, it was virtually unprecedented. this event is inexcusable, though.
had a great time today downtown, tons of raids, hatched eggs, met a bunch of people playing and now lvl 34 was not in chicago, knew that wouldn't go well
meh, no chance I ever get in on those raids. think I'll bow out. poor implementation from Niantic, kills their entire rural playerbase.
double candies, dust, buddy distance is way down (it's like 1/3 normal right now) are all active for the next couple of days. finally xferred all my Lapras, got 60 candy out of that. totally forgot I had a 91 Lapras that was like level 27 because it had Water Gun not Frost Breath for a quick move. now I can TM it, max it with like 30 candy, and have a monster. should be able to make 3 max Lapras out of this from 87 to 91 IV. need to sit down and dump all my prestige stuff now that they're useless, will clear up like 100 bag slots at least.
double everything and reduced egg hatching for *new* eggs I assume; haven't seen reduced for old ones.
is there double items from stops too? if so I have a dangerously low bag that I'll be refilling tomorrow.
So right now it's more about what moves your Pokémon has more than their IV Edit I hope this is the case because that's how I've been going about it since the last big upgrade
yes. IV and most importantly the Attack IV can make a slight difference but it tends to only be noticeable when trying to solo a 3 star raid or duo a Ttar or something, where all your DPS matters. if you get some baller attacker that's near max level with the right moves then keep that dude for sure.
do normal raid passes work on these legendary raids to let you in? I thought i saw there was a special legendary raid pass in the APK data mines they did leading up to this. didn't wanna go somewhere just to find out i can't get one.
LEgendary raids are An absolute shit show. Had 10 people with 60 seconds left and articuno. All of a sudden the game starts locking up and half of us can't attack the last 60 seconds so we lose. Go back to try again and the game crashes 10 seconds into the fight and won't let us get back in. So broken and so dumb.
How many people do you need to take one down? Minimum requirement I guess. Also is there a way to see who all is waiting to raid on a gym you're at before using the pass to battle or just gotta coordinate with group outside the app?
We had 10 and were borderline but likely to take it down before it glitched out on us. If you show up and click battle, you will auto join a group and will see how many are in it. We kept waiting to start until 10 people joined.
But isn't there only a timer for 2 minutes to matchmake before it starts? Or can you delay it somehow? And can you back out if no one shows and save the pass for another raid that day?
