non-boosted rates (Absol/Mawile are ~5%, like Community Day, leggo birds are ~10%) are about 1-in-450 so they're supposed to be crazy rare.
the regionals are apparently quite rare as far as hatches go, preliminary reports from silph road seems to put them in same rarity as alolan vulpix
it is, glad I finished gen 1 with Mewtwo last week. Mime and Farfetch'd are essentially useless and Kanga just has a bigger CP like Tauros. if you can spare the stardust, I'd just find someone and get a trade.
Hatched 5 of my 7k eggs and scored a Mr Mime and Alolan Vulpix. Caught my first Chancey and another Lapras. Finally scored enough candy to evolve Charizard, Blastoise, poliwrath, politoed, electrode and dragonite. This event definitely makes up for the Johto event that littered the streets with Snubbull and Slugma.
they gotta switch up those rates before the end of this event right? they're getting a lot of flack for this.
nah, they want to sell incubators and trading exists, those #s won't change. unless people want a living dex, all regionals are wholly worthless for the meta so people will be willing to trade them.

Finally caught enough female Nidoran yesterday for my first Nidoqueen, finished my Rapidash, scored a Hitmonlee, majorly upgraded my Lapras, evolved my first Electrode, and almost have enough Scyther to evolve. This event rocks.

if all i hatch is farfetched and tauros i'll be highly disappointed in this... no one will want to trade for either of those.
I hatched 2 Taurus so far. They should exclude those by region. My son got a Mr Mime on his first. At least a good day for shinies
Two big achievements in the same day... Level 40 and Gen 1 Pokédex completed. My son also hatched a perfect Mr Mime. What is the point of getting lucky eggs as a reward for level 40. Such a fucking troll.

You dont have to do that. As long as you dont drive in a straight line you get a lot of distance registration. I just drive normally around the neighborhood and register most of it.
I live in a nice little area with a cool downtown, so we walk longish (1.5 mile) loops around it basically every evening. The key for distance is remembering that it's not tracking your actual traveled distance...just the distance between two points as the crow flies. first day able to do this event. crossed both hitmonlee and hitmonchan off the list. also got lapras. This pleases me.
event is pretty ridiculous, been able to add onto my Machop collection (they are considerably rare where I live) including a level 35 93 IV today which I immediately evolved into Counter/Dynamic Punch Machamp, the first I've never had to TM. That gives me 4 Machamp over 2600 IV with C/DP which is a good start to a full team but my master plan is in place. I've got a friend who lives max transferring distance who is also saving Machop. we're going to wait until a 2x transfer event and then trade Machop for Machop for 6 candy and then take the traded Machop and transfer to the professor during the same event (or wait for 2x candy event). counting the obvious Pinap I always do on the catch, that's 14 candy per Machop. I've got 100 saved and hoping to get another 100 before the event ends. That's 2800 candy and the end of any Machamp issues I'll ever have again.
~70 more Magikarp candy to advance this quest. Switched to walking Eevee so I can knock out parts of the Celebi quest now that Magikarp are actually spawning around me. I love this event.
Beldum Community Day next, should have Meteor Mash, which is the only move that makes Metagross decent. Save any Beldum you might have until that CD.
