In general, yes. It's phenomenal, one of the best moves in the game. For Alakazam? No. Alakazam is too glassy to do anything regardless. Much like anything else that isn't meta or second-tier, it's niche which basically means if you aren't doing Silph Cup stuff you'll personally never use it and it'll just collect dust in your bags.
The Kanto research was a nice little addition. My interest in this game is surging a bit. Wish we could get better raid bosses and obviously PvP is not great but the effort is there
wish, and always have, that there was a raid "check in" type of function, especially with remote raids now in game, where you could just indicate that you're in the area and will raid if anyone else wants to. get enough people checked in and a notification goes to everyone that the raid will start in 5 minutes or something. then you spend raid pass rather than input it and wait there or not input and wait and no one indicates that they're there also.
im assuming legendaries as field research weekly rewards are done for good now that pvp has them? been getting random new pokemon or rare normal pokemon for a while now.
As someone who quit playing for 13 months and came back just as the Dialga/Palkia raids I would love for those to come back. Missed the Shiny Ho-oh and Lugia stuff to but I can live with that. It’s the other two I want
sorry man, didn’t see this and I just went ahead and opened. Figured since you were 40 you wouldn’t care and I was raiding and had already dropped an egg. Sorry.
All good. I know I shouldn’t worry and XP but at the same time part of me worries they’ll bump the limit to like 50 within a year
Since they extended season 1 and opened up all 3 classes I’ve been playing Great League a lot. My new thing is catching and leveling up viable Pokémon. For Great League my main team is: Azumarill (9-15-15) Bubble IB/HP Deoxys D (meh PVP IVs) Counter RS/PB Ivysaur (12-13-14) VW SB/PW been working out really well in rank 8. my bench consists of Altaria Bastidion Probopass Croagunk. All but Deoxys have at least 75% PVP IV for Great League and are leveled up with 2 charged moves. Next will be Umbreon, Haunter or Hypno.
Any early ideas for who will be the top mons in Premiere League? Added a 3rd move to my 40 Gyarados and Swampert. Already gave a 40 3 move Togekiss and Metagross.
I doubt that will ever happen. I suspect that if they ever allow additional levels it will be xp accumulated from the time they say go.
Those two and Tina-O will be here this summer, guaranteed. Might start next month or July, depending on how many states ease into re-opening. They want maximum players for those events but yea, they're coming for sure.
I would wager that when they increase the level cap (and some features are now coded for it to go to 50, so it seems like it will happen at some point), it won't be based on just XP, but on a series of new accomplishments like: Complete ____ regions Finish rank 9 or higher in GBL Earn ___ gold badges Visit ____ new places Earn ____ new XP etc, etc. With maybe each one moving you up a level as you achieve it and not in sequential order. Lots of problems with that approach too, but I think they'll definitely go with the kind of stuff that promotes their new initiatives and drives more revenue, as opposed to just converting my bajillion XP to level 50 instantly or simply just using new XP, which can be grinded for free.
So any thoughts on Premier League? obviously Metagross Swampert Dragonite Togekiss Snorlax Garchomp Gyarados Machamp Lucario
A Haroxus would be a good dragon killer with Dragon Tail/Dragon Claw. Conkeldurr over Machamp just due to bulk IMO
Pumped about my Fire Punch Groudon. Wish they would open up community day moves for the starters during throwback week. Would have been nice to get a Frenzy Plant Venusaur and a Hydro Cannon Swampert for use in the Great League. All the ones I have are over 1500CP. Don’t want to use my elite TM on one. Currently thinking about maxing out my 98IV Mewtwo and making it Psystrike/SB. just caught a 98IV Shadow Magnemite on my alt account. Thinking about spending a fortune to max it out for Premier League
I currently use a PW/SB Ivysaur in Great League in place of a Venusaur and that works out fine, but would like to replace it with a FP Venusaur.
Who is Ggggggunit? We go Ultra Friends today. Do you want to drop the lucky egg? It’ll put me within 100k xp of 40
Ive got a 98 IV, 4169 CP that currently has psychic and Ice Beam. So 2 special TMs to get Psystrike and shadow ball. Or I have a 387c CP, 93 IV lucky that already has psystrike but no 2nd attack. so 100 rare candies a special TM + whatever dust to get it to max CP. Thought on the better option? leaning towards doing it with my 98 IV.
Shadow Ball is a bit of a parlor trick at this point. It's useful but so is Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, or Flamethrower, there is no cover-all second move for it. Give it Psystrike and then just keep the second move to one of those based on what you think you see the most. Two TMs would just be wasteful for what little you'd get out of it.
I go vine whip to generate power more quickly and fire off more charged moves. I previously used Razor Leaf. They both have their benefits.
My lineup is Jirachi Venusaur Azumaril which means I don’t have a true steel counter. That razor leaf and a couple shields usually gets me through the registeel users pretty close to even. I think is be in trouble if I switched to vine whip.
I like to counter other grass types with my Ivysaur so it helps to be able to spam Sludge Bomb. I have a Deoxys D whose fast move is Counter who can take out a Registeel with 1 shield.
Someone talk me out of utilizing significant resources to get this bad boy I just caught Premier League ready.
I'd probably sit on that until December rather than waste an elite TM on it. also, you need to wait for the next "TM Frustration" event anyway so that might not be usable for 3-4 months anyway and by then you'd just need to wait a little longer for December CD so I'd just park it for now.
the shiny of it is amazing there's a pretty severe exploit going around atm, not 100% sure on the basis of it but what happens is you can eventually just use a Melmetal or a Swampert and just fire off charge move after charge move once you get a little deep into the fight and you basically can't be beaten. I've heard it involves using two phones but there doesn't seem to be any real confirmation of how to replicate it atm. I believe the #1 player on the leaderboards was caught using it and removed so it's a pretty serious exploit.
