Expanding into a new market and changing what you do to try and compete with someone who already does it 10X better than you seems like a terrible idea.
Chicken chain Popeyes is celebrating its 50th anniversary with throwback deal. In honor of its 50th, Popeyes will sell two pieces of its signature bone-in fried chicken for 50 cents. The price is the same as when the restaurant first opened on June 12, 1972. There are some stipulations on the deal. It’s only being offered June 12-19 and requires a $5 minimum purchase through mobile order on the Popeye’s app or Popeyes.com. Popeyes was founded in 1972 in New Orleans by Al Copeland, specializing in spicy, New Orleans-style chicken. It introduced its famous tagline – “Love that Chicken” – in 1980.
In Athens for a wedding this weekend and my kid was hungry. Saw Raising Cane’s was nearby so we tried it for the first time. This place is just Guthrie’s with waaaaaay better marketing. Like I couldn’t distinguish between them. I did like it was right across the street from a restaurant called the Slutty Vegan.
That’s the one I went to. It’s in Waterford Lakes by UCF. 30 minute drive for me, but worth it. One plate can probably feed two people and I can’t imagine how awful you’d feel after eating 2 sliders.
Eugene's Hot Chicken in Birmingham is my go to. Haven't had it in awhile I need to rectify that immediately.
hows the Dave’s sauce? And which heat you choose for your chicken? Going to try and go this week, looking at the tender and slider basket.
I like it. It’s sorta like your typical CFA or Zaxby’s type sauce, but a little more heat. I went with hot. Warm enough to make the nose run, but not enough to make me uncomfortable or the meal unpleasant. One slider was enough for me. Also, seating appears to be a premium there.
This looks ridiculous. Holy shit. Yall need to let me know if it's worth grabbing when I'm in Orlando.
Went on Thursday, thought it was excellent. Got on extra reaper tender and had to sign a waiver. Hot but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. For my slider I just got medium. Would go hot next time.
Just opened a new one near me and we've been there twice for lunch already. S-tier fast-casual chicken
Dave's sauce was really good. I go with hot and it's not overpowering, but you feel it a bit. Coworker goes with mild and I think the flavor/seasoning comes through way more with it. I generally would prefer something hotter, but the mild tastes better. So you can feel comfortable bringing someone that doesn't like spice
'S' tier may mean "Special", "Super", or the Japanese word for "Exemplary" (秀, shū), and originates from the widespread use in Japanese culture of an 'S' grade for advertising and academic grading. For a game like Super Smash Bros.
One of my qc guys refers to himself as a weeb so I thought it was fair game, had a brief “oh shit” moment there.
I’m gonna say not better than chicken fire (but I haven’t had chicken fire in over a year) but it was very good.
I’d say I’ll grab it for lunch one day since I work downtown, but I’m pretty sure that would put me to sleep
