It's not that I'm shaming any grown ass man who can't eat an entire one spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes...I just don't want to be associated with that sort of person.
Got it tonight for the first time since it returned. Drive thru was quick. Got home though and it wasn’t good. Way too much breading and the chicken was almost like a double patty it was so big. V disappointed. Spoiler
One of the worst takes I’ve ever read on this site. God, I hate when my portions are way too big and have way too much deliciously golden brown breading!
it wasn’t the portions, it was having to eat through 2 inches of breading to get to a giant chunk of chicken with no breading at that point.
Had the CFA one yesterday because of wife and 5 year old Gotta say, its decent, but anyone who says it's as good or better then popeyes is just an idiot
New Popeyes by my house got a food delivery today. Hoping it opens in the next few days so I can finally get this chicken.
Still none here locally. Passed one on the road today and grabbed a spicy sandwich. Can now independently confirm that it is indeed the spicy mayo that makes the sandwich special.
Last spicy sandwich I had was actually disappointing. It wasn't a single breaded filet...it was two small, skinny filets (prob tenders) that were not fresh. Still a big fan, but was noticably upset with that sandwich.
Went today for the first time - had to explain what I wanted to the cashier about 10 times (2 spicy sandwiches and then a #8 combo) and he still couldn’t figure it out Ended up just charging me for one combo which worked out in my favor. Spicy sandwich was really good and I can see what the hype was all about.
my spot was decorating a Christmas tree in the lobby but none of the ladies could reach the top so today I got to put the star atop the tree in popeyes #honored
Tried it last weekend. 2 cars in line at 1 pm on Saturday. Admitted CFA fanboy, but didn't think the sandwich lived up to the hype. IMO, the most impressive parts were the premium pickles and the size of a large fry box.
Update: Didn’t get one. It’s 35 minutes away and I’m not making a special trip for it. Next time I’m up that way, maybe.
Tried to stop for one Monday night after watching my basketball team get waxed by 20. Pulled into drive thru at 10:01 and was ignored. Pulled forward to window and saw someone inside mopping. Then saw that they closed at 10pm.
Had a couple for the first time, today. It’s good, but anyone ranting and raving or waiting in line has never had the spicy chicken popboy at Popeyes. Basically the same thing, except on a bun instead of roll and patty instead of fingers. The chicken and breading are the same and so are the sauce and pickles.
They aren't the same thing. Their fingers are 50/50 breading to chicken. If you get the blackened ones, they are legit 1/2 the size of the fried ones. Meanwhile the sandwich is 90% chicken and 10% breading. It's a fatass piece of chicken, not a tiny strip.
