Well between a coaching search and swirling trade rumors…should be quite the off-season at least Kidd withdrew his name from consideration, thank god
I agree that some kind of roster shake up is probably needed at this point. I just really wish we could have seen what the team looked like healthy during the season. Losing Nurk and CJ for large portions of the season and getting nothing from Collins definitely hurt. With that said CJ had the best year of his career, shot more 3s, and had his most efficient season to date even with the increased usage. Unfortunately, he choked and sucked in the playoffs. If they could get a wing for CJ and re-sign Norm for the hole at the 2 guard, the lineup would look a lot better. But that's way easier said than done, and looking at the salary table for players making 30 mil the pickings are slim. And with what we gave up for RoCo there is limited flexibility. It's a rough spot.
Can I post hypothetical Dame trades in here or no? Jk love you Blazer bros and hope Dame wins a title in Portland (as long as Jokic gets one too)
As long as they're better than the shit dtx throws against the wall lol. Also, this is a KP free thread, don't bring that mess up in here.
Just digested the shit Olshey tried to sell today and I doubt anything major will happen. It’s Stotts’ fault we lost apparently. Also said he wants the new coach (apparently he likes Chauncey Billups) needs to win with minimal changes to the roster
I like how Dallas is the only team that hypothetically improves by 2 wins and both POR and MIL get worse with that proposal
Mhm, like I mentioned earlier the pickings are slim at that 30 mil table. Like Tobias or Siakam are feasible fits on paper on what we need. CJ would fit nicely in PHI, but idk that Tobias moves the needle that much and CJ is kinda redundant with Fred and/or what Lowry decides and I don't think TOR would move Siakam anyway.
funny enough, i've been tinkering with some CJxMiddleton trades. Portland definitely doesn't involve Dallas there if we are shipping CJ out and Middleton is available. i shit on CJ a fair amount but he's not horrible like KP. he's just okay. but on Portland, he's a horrible fit. i think CJ makes sense on teams that need help with scoring... Philly, Boston, Milwaukee, maybe Miami...
what's weird is that during the last round of negotiations, the team actually wanted to go to root, but comcast was like "ok sure, do that. we just won't carry root anymore" providers probably shouldn't be allowed to own channels and leverage their subscribers to monopolize content like that, but what do i know
He is among the most insufferable people in sports and nobody knows it outside us Blazers fans. A narcissist of the highest levels.
Even more amazing that we think that as Blazers fans and he gives like 2 interviews a year to media. fucking punk ass bitch that hides and won’t speak to anybody.
i admittedly didn't follow the coaching discussion, the billups news stories, or even watch the press conference but i get the feeling that stating the quoted piece from quick's articles at the press conference would've saved a whole lot of negative press
Meh, KP was a 20-8 guy in the regular season, and damn good in the bubble last year. He’s finally going to have a healthy offseason. He was dog shit in the playoffs this year, but I blame that mostly on Rick going full D’Antoni with his scheme. If we can find a way to get any other player that can create off the dribble we’ll be looking good.
Was he always so grumpy? I feel like when I first started listening he wasn't this way He also has permanent beef with the Blazers for booting him from that blazer show on comcast
Tbqh, haven’t really listened to his show in some time. There’s something about that time slot that changes people into caricatures of themselves. Vance, Lund, Furness, and now Ropp & Suke. Can’t explain it and yes Ropp has a hate boner for Blazers mgmt after getting fired for being openly critical of the team
Firing him likely doesn’t keep Lillard - right? Instability. Sort of damned if you do/don’t for dame but maybe better in the long run.
It is kind of weird that Olshey is getting this level of hate right now, when they have basically been married to the core of Dame, Cj, and Nurk for awhile now. Absolute best case scenario, that's like the 3rd best team in the West. Maybe That's the real issue iyam
