LG is good. Really good customer service with repair work if it's under warranty. Screen on mine started fucking up and the company they contracted with around here came to my house and replaced the screen for free and they came by to fix it within like two days. The service guy said the problem that popped up with my TV was pretty rare so I was just unlucky.
it came with a free 5 year warranty through costco, so I should be good for awhile. I’m replacing a Vizio from 2007 so I’m hoping it will last me a decade.
Nice. I've literally had zero problems with my TV other than that. Been plenty happy, wish the smart TV software was better but it's no biggie since I have a Roku and a Fire TV.
I don't know shit about TVs, someone recommended those to me. Not married to any brand so long as they make a good product.
I am extremely happy with my TCL. Only a few months in, but couldn’t ask for more price wise. Check out amazon if you have prime.
I ahve a 50" LG that I like. I'm not TV snob though, as long as it works and is the size I want I don't really care too much.
I'll say this. I have a 45 in. Samsung I bought around 6 yrs ago thats not a Smart TV and at the time was in the middle price point of their offerings at the time. I have had that as my main TV since then but 3 months ago I bought a 65 in. TCL so I could rock a 2 TV setup. The TCL is the 6 series that tons of TMBers have. Even though the Samsung is now 6+ yrs old and TV tech has improved since then...i still prefer the Samsung picture. Don't get me wrong...the TCL is a nice TV and a great value for the cost. Also the Roku interface is great. Something about the Samsung though...its picture is just deeper or more dynamic imo. Kinda hard to explain. My next TV will be a Samsung. I think I've always just liked their quality of picture more.
I have a Sony the TCL blows away and a Sony that blows the TCL away so I agree. Just saying for the price I’m not sure it can be beat, unless you’re a true picture cunt.
I'm either sleeping in hotels or on job sites for work and noisy assholes always wake me up. I was skeptical of these, but after reading a few good reviews I broke down and bought them. HIGHLY recommend if you have to sleep in hotels, your partner snores, or whatever noises wake you up.
Pretty amazing those cost $250, seem like they basically only work for back-sleepers, and do what a $30 Echo Dot, white noise machine, or regular ass ear plugs can do.
No they're small enough that you can sleep on your side and they also have a noise cancelling component to it. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone due to price, but I sleep a lot better on the road now when I can't hear jackasses loudly talking in the hallway of the hotel. They've paid for themselves by allowing me not to be woken up 5-10 times per night this last week.
I can't sleep with things in my ears, but I'm sure those are the best noise blockers for those that can. I use a white noise machine in every bedroom. When I travel, I use a white noise app that does the trick.
wife always complains when i read on my ipad at night. says screen is too bright. are there any better, less bright options?
If by “read” you mean ebooks, then get a kindle paperwhite or voyager or something like that. If you mean browsing on TMB, then get her the eye mask posted above.
I have a new kindle with the back light affect. It’s perfect for this. I have to read to fall asleep and it doesn’t give off a light glare.
Receipt for Your $12.60 Payment to 安徽百舟互娱网络股份有限公司 Via https://wccftech.com/microsoft-windows-10-pro-deal-only-for-12-6/amp/ For my new i9-9900K system build.
Went with Rog Strix -E, as I was uncomfortable going with another brand that I don't have experience with. It was not a 100% new build. I am using my previous case, PSU and GPU, which is a GTX 1070 (founders edition?). I was coming from an i5-4670k.
Nice, I’d consider upgrading the power supply, you can get a little more juice out of the processor that way and consider a water cooling system to deal with the thermals the extra cores and frequency are generating.
I've been tempted by the i7 9700k but think I'm going to hold out for Zen 2 to launch, supposedly Q1 next year. I just rebuilt my system and went from a giant mountain mods case to a normal sized tower, still watercooled and upgraded to a 1080ti and an nvme ssd, kept the 4790k proc though.
I have the brightness down all the way and it still gives off a good bit of light. Might get a kindle as someone suggested. Thanks all for suggestions.
Do you have it setup where the background is black and the text white? I have both the kindle fire and iPad, and the iPad gives off less light this way. My paperwhite gives off more light than both.
Zen will come out closer to late Q2 or early 3 next year. Announce will be in late Q1. Early benchmarks put it around 8700k performance.
