That is currently $138 on Amazon, pass. Wirecutter ranked the Wahl Elite Pro as their top choice as determined by three professional barbers along with professional reviews. https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-hair-clippers-for-home-use/
I have a Wahl and the blade throw is too much, It's fine with a guard, but going guard off is a dangerous route.
I don't see anything indicating that for the Elite Pro on non-Amazon reviews. Of course, I never use them without a guard since I don't want a shaved head. Any precision trimming for edges and what not where I wouldn't use a guard, I use a regular razor.
Having a no slam lid just means you will start slamming all other lids you come in contact with, I know from experience
No slam lid, and blue LED night light. Didn't realize I grabbed the night light ones until I got home. but hell. I've a got a 4 year old, she'll love it. 3 toilets up, 3 down. Edit: also quick release for cleaning.
It's not very bright, certainly a silly novelty. But when I wake up hungover for my 3am piss it may be one heel of a tool. No lights on just aim for the blue.
If anyone is interested in overpriced coolers RTIC has a ton of options at 20% off on Amazon right now.
Worth moving over from directv's app based TV quality wise? Looks like it saves $25/month for the same channels. Is this the best TV app?
It’s a preference thang. YoutubeTV is mostly the cheapest at $40/month. You have to ask yourself if the channels provided are what you are looking for. None of them had exactly a perfect lineup but youtubeTV was the best for me and just happened to be the cheapest. One last underrated component of youtubetv is unlimited DVR. That’s huge.
I’ve used YouTube tv for awhile, it’s pretty solid streaming quality wise. Content quality is based on if you like those channels. You can have like five currents users. My biggest complaint is that I can only use my phone to control one Chromecast/TV. Each concurrent “stream” requires a new piece of hardware unless you get tricky with a PC.
Just FYI but right now Sling Orange + Sling Blue has a $25/mo for three months offer. It's $40/mo regular price.
I did this about a week ago, pretty happy with it except ABC, CBS, and NBC aren't available for me so I'm going to have to get an antenna for them. If I can't negotiate to keep the price low after the 3 months I might be switching though.
There's also locast, which is available in these markets: https://www.locast.org/markets/ I use it on my Roku here in Denver.
Having an HD antenna on the wall behind my TV and getting HD ABC, Fox, and CBS is a game changer. $20 investment for free HD channels.
YouTube TV offers the best video quality and overall service/solution. Check out the cord cutters thread if you need anymore information.
I generally agree with this, since YTTV has wide support for 60fps and a high quality video player with wide device support, but in full disclosure, they do not support 4k. This is a small nitpick, but one I have noticed. Some competitors provide 4k (in very limited manner, usually only a handful of events per month) that is desirable. Big games, Masters coverage, etc. I hope YTTV rolls that out soon, because I know they have infrastructure for that in place since YouTube supports 8k60fps w/ HDR.
Maybe completely wrong and off base here but I feel like sling, youtube tv, etc. are starting to basically cost what you would pay for internet and tv from a cable company. Youtube tv is $35/month and I pay $50/month for internet right now. Looking at AT&T I could get the same internet and TV for the first 12 months for $75 total plus a $300 gift card. After 12 months I could just switch to cox or another company for a promotional deal. Starting to just not see the upside of getting an antenna, youtubetv, etc. instead of getting it all in one package.
Pretty sure only Comcast, DirecTV and Dish offer 4K, but that is one 4K channel and it’s in their top packages, which are way more expensive than YTTV. I understand the want for 4K, but that is going to come at a cost.
I agree, but FUBO (OTT, aka intenet only) has a decent amount of soccer in 4k. Just opened up their schedule, and they were running college basketball in 4k as well. 15-Mar 12:30 PM Big Ten Tournament BTN 4K 15-Mar 3:00 PM Big Ten Tournament BTN 4K 15-Mar 6:30 PM Big East Tournament FS1 4K 15-Mar 7:00 PM Big Ten Tournament BTN 4K 15-Mar 9:00 PM Big East Tournament FS1 4K 15-Mar 9:30 PM Big Ten Tournament BTN 4K 17-Mar 10:00 AM Fulham vs Liverpool NBCSN 4K 30-Mar 4:00 PM Atlanta Braves @ Philadelphia Phillies FS1 4K 31-Mar 11:30 AM Liverpool vs Tottenham NBCSN 4K
I don’t think you’re wrong, but that is because the streaming services have forced their hand to keep up. Comcast and ATT have made that baseline cheaper and upped their own streaming services to be able to match what YouTube Hulu and Sling can do.
I don't disagree LSU90 . Many analysts have said that some of these streaming only plans are priced at cost or below...losing money for the service provider, probably why we have seen so many price increases in 2018. Sounds like there is not a lot of profit to be made based on current structure and contracts. even some of the skinny bundles, pulling out high cost networks like espn, seem to be moving up in cost. I cannot imagine going back to terrestrial cable, even if it was a little cheaper than streaming...the thought of going back to a cable box is not pleasant. FWIW, YTTV has all local networks in my market.
I will say I don't know much about YTTV which is why I could have been completely offbase with what I said. It was more a realization that popped in my head that the products are essentially the same price now.
You're wrong for most people. "Cutting the cord" and switching to a streaming service saves me $100/month. Just look at the average cost of most streaming packages. They're $50-$60/month. Cable averages much more. Also...YTTV offers local channels in most markets so you just need that service and no antenna.
I don’t believe those $75/month quotes include a DVR (free with streaming services) and require 2 year contracts where the price jumps significantly after year 1.
