You don’t need that expensive of a coat. When I moved here my boss told me I didn’t need anything more than North Face. I’ve had no issues. Plus, people wearing Canada Goose are targeted for muggings. Thus, I have some Eddie Bauer jacket that works perfectly, saves money, and reduces my chance of being mugged.
Layers guys. Layers. And ffs you don't need a coat that costs that much to survive winter. If you want it that's tight. But you certainly don't need it.
The atom LT hoody is my all time favorite jacket. Crazy warm for its weight, breathable, easily fits a vest under or jacket over. 10/10.
What was the build quality like on this? I’m looking for a weekend duffle and I’m between this: https://www.timbuk2.com/products/5280-wingman-travel-backpack-duffel and this: https://www.calpaktravel.com/products/stevyn-duffel/moss
Holy nostalgia, I was just telling someone about this event. Re: the bag, actually couldn’t tell ya, I had it shipped to a client who couldn’t make the event instead. Don’t think we got that deal either
I got the gray LEAF one with an Alpha to go over it for wind and rain. It’s dope. I’ve got the cold WX and it really only works when I’m up in Minnesota. Otherwise it’s too much unless I’m not moving at all. Sitka rolled out their arrowhead program that’s TAA and / or Berry compliant. It’s designed with hunters still in mind. My Alpha is still the GOAT shell until further notice (I’m so biased though because i have the wolf and croc colors… I will eventually cave and buy the black too), but the Sitka wet weather shell is nice as fuck.
You guys ready for my next doozy? https://thebuffalowoolco.com/produc...ybpNABwP52IxeVO4Hd9E4lVOT45_B300aAk1qEALw_wcB
There’s a sweet spot with North face that I’ve found to be great. Obviously a bunch of their basic stuff is sold at places like Dicks and is a bit watered down. But they have a great Parka’s that are insulated with down and weather resistant. Retail for between 3-500 but last years colors go on sale and can find them for half that. I got a FutureLight Defdown for around 200 and have 2 Outerborough Parkas, all for really stupid deals. Well made, warm, and plenty functional. I really like the down sweater/nanopuff stuff from Patagonia but I’ve had much better luck with North Face parka stuff.
The wife got me some Cuts AO Joggers in black and Hyperloop Sunday Sweats 2.0 in sage. The sweats are actually joggers and they’re so comfy and the Joggers could pass for work and they’re the most comfortable pants I’ve worn in a long time.
I have this thing and love it. Took a while to get used to it however. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/micros...board-and-mouse-black/1818024.p?skuId=1818024
Related side note, I absolutely love Best Buy. Within the last two years I gave them a shot, primarily because a ton of places that were completely useless during Covid. You can get anyone on a phone to answer literally anything, and it’s at your door two days later, max. Solid business.
Basically makes the Smoke travel back down to the bottom of grill to escape thus surrounding the meat with the Smoke for longer.
Nice Lots of smokers have their stack built or mounted to do the same I'll have to research this thing a bit
Lot of people use them in offset smokers. I'm coming from a vertical smoker so I'm use to alot of smoke flavor and trying to get as much as possible with the Pellet.
When I built my big offset, I mounted the stack through the top so that it extends down to about 2 inches off the grate just for that l, to force the smoke to 'fill up' a bit more. It's also a reverse flow, so it cranks out some serious smoke flavor. I honestly can't believe I got it to flow so well, looking back. Cause I had very little idea what I was doing
Above is a table with some comparisons for the pants. While the pant sizes aren't all the same, the fit at my waist is consistent across those sizes, so I consider them all equivalents. P6 Pro in the table is my Pixel 6 Pro phone. Keeping: Lululemon Vuori Returning: Fabletics Kuhl Undecided: Birddogs In depth on all the pants: Spoiler The Lululemon pants are my overall favorite. They have a good weight to them, and with my bit larger thighs that rub together when I walk, they're definitely the quietest. I think they also have the best fit in terms of not having to pull the pants up or push them down to get a drop with no bunching at the shoe. If you have thinner thighs or like the look of pants tightly stretched over them (and don't mind the seam of your boxers showing through the pant too), then I'd strongly recommend the Vuori pants. They're just a slightly less aggressive version of the Birddogs to me, but also with what I think is a bit better fabric. I will say I think the cut of these is meant to be worn a bit higher than say the Lulus, but at least on me I thought it worked and didn't feel unnatural. The Fabletics pants are just awful to me. I think their slogan is something to the effect of "Like Lululemons, but half the price." But I couldn't disagree more. The material is so light they almost feel like 90s windbreaker pants or something. For as tight as the thigh is, there's only a hint of taper at the ankle - way too much extra fabric in my mind. I also think their inseam sizing is weird. With their 29" inseam, I found myself pushing the pants down trying not to flood. But with the 32" inseam, I pulled them up as much as I could and there was still an inch too much of fabric at the bottom. Really the only kind of application I think these pants could maybe work for is golf or a similar activity. Fabric feels too thin and fragile for hiking. It did have some elastic in the waist, so that was forgiving. The Kuhl pants are fine and probably a little hard done to be getting returned. But I just couldn't imagine ever wearing them in an office setting. The material is too light and frankly I just think the aesthetic is too rugged, with drop in pockets on each side near the knee and some of the exposed stitching. The front pockets are also noticeably smaller than the other pants, it barely fit my phone. If your work is more casual than a polo I could see these working for you. I think they also might work for hiking. I'm really torn on the Birddogs. On one hand, it's probably got the most modern tapered look of any of these pants and it has an immensely practical elastic waist for when you've had a bit too much at Thanksgiving. But on the other hand, even pushing the pants down as much as reasonable, it still looked a bit like I was smuggling fruit and I also found the material quite loud when walking. I do wonder on the latter point though if they'd soften after a wash. One thing about all these pants besides the Kuhls, I really don't understand the purpose of the side zip pocket. Is it just to put stuff in so there isn't a front pocket bulge or is there some utility it provides if you're being active? As it is I don't see myself ever using them. While the Fabletics pants are shit, I also bought their Franchise short and am planning to keep it. Their Fundamental short, as well as most other workout shorts I've tried, hug my quads too much. But the franchise short has a bit wider leg opening that I like.
My Lulu pants are the freaking tits and worth every penny I request a new pair, or a giftcard to their store, every holiday season
Didn’t kop, but thought of you #Florida State Seminoles brothers would be so much better with a “ ‘it “ attached tho
I've been going to go to our restaurant supply store to look for a carbon steel pan, should I look at Misen instead?
