https://www.backcountry.com/salomon...FDXvxBLFtSW35QdxjxiET1LQzk8BPo7MaAnDtEALw_wcB Only advice I’d give is to not buy blind. Hiking boots seem to have about the widest range of fit/comfort depending on your foot of anything, including running shoes. I’m a pretty dedicated fanboy though and have never had issues with the boots or shoes fwiw.
My only issue with Salomon as a brand is they run narrow and don’t offer widths. I’ve been ordering them a half size larger and that helps. The quality is great (the gore Tex line is truly waterproof) and I like their lacing system better then anyone else’s. I have a lineup of those in my garage like they’re white new balances (new, almost new, grass cutting, soles are slick but I have a few more wears left). I’ve probably been through a minimum of 10 pairs of the XA Pro GTXs (trail runner). For actual boots I tend to find a better fit with Salewa, Lowa, Scarpa and a few others.
I've gone through a pair of them, the outsole is the thing that has shown the most wear on each of mine. Can't beat the comfort though.
Wearing my XA Pro 3D GTX Salomon’s right now. My only knock on them for actual hiking is that they’re heavy and the sole is a little rigid for high mileage. I wear them casually pretty much all winter though.
Best $20 I've spent in awhile. Love listening to audible while I fall asleep and these are perfect. I don’t but my friend who’s an outfitter swears by them. Anyone who buys a hunt with him who asks about boots that’s what he recommends. Hunting and fishing are endless pits of gear that fascinate me, but I don’t enjoy either one of them any more. I used to, but I had one of those moments Forest Gump had when he decided to stop running. I put my fishing rod in the truck one day and I was like “I don’t think I enjoy that any more.” Sad, but saved me loads of money since I live on Wilson Lake. I have photographed some hunts and that was fun…it’s like a hike with a purpose (and a nice break in the middle).
Couldn't find anything we liked at the lower cost furniture stores. So we got 2 Couches and 2 Swivel Chairs from Haverty's....
Needed a nice jacket in a pinch before a trip. Went to REI and stumbled on this one. Absolutely love it.
Bought some new bedding. Did some research and went with Red Land Cotton. Im out west and none of my friends knew of it, any of you southern gents sleep on their stuff before?
Yeah I posted on it briefly before. I drive by their cotton fields every day and drive close to their store as well. Towels are okay, not mind blowing (they are towels after all…). The sheets (ticking cloth) are a little stiff like a broadcloth dress shirt but after a few washes I’m really liking them.
About what I expect based on reading. I tend to like a more rigid or stiff feeling cotton. Without sounding all Stan Marsh, I do try to buy American when I can if it appears to be quality and good people.
I bought those before hiking szn last year, they're the best boot I've ever owned. Goretex is a must hiking in the PNW. North Cascades are fucking amazing, arguably most underrated park in the US. Hitting up Stehekin?
My driveway is still in the before phase. It just has a lot of root damage. That’s a Google image of “new concrete driveway”.
I'm going to assume (hope) your driveway is a lot longer or wider than the one pictured. 'Hope' because this same type of expense is coming for me on a much, much longer driveway, and while I may not go for concrete I'm still interested in prices.
I love sunglasses, it's one of the few things I splurge on. Usually a raybans guy, but lost my favorite pair in the Specific Ocean a few weeks back and have been rocking some cheap ones for a minute. Delivery in Mexico is too expensive, and couldn't find a store selling raybans that I liked. Stumbled into a boutique yesterday that sold Quoise, a sustainable Italian brand. https://quoiseeyewear.com/ And "Excellence Luxury Magazine" says they're legit, so what more do you want? https://www.excellencemagazine.luxu...tainable-revolutionary-and-committed/?lang=en Pretty pricey, around $170, but big fan: Spoiler
