Partner buys lots of pumpkins but we don’t carve them. We opted for painting ceramic skulls this year…so here ya go.
The wife made this a couple years back. It's a styrofoam pumpking carved out with a white styrofoam pumpkin stuffed in and painted.
Just an exacto knife. Once you outline the parts you want to pop the shell out it’s pretty easy to get the knife under and pop out the shell part.
Good on you for this thread. My art skills suck but always edified that even a lot of kids in Crestwood appreciate carving.
Also, this is a yearly dialogue with my kids. "Could you please use more straight lines? Dad is not an artist." We are getting to the point where they're ready to let me scoop out seeds and they do the art, which is fine with me.
I saw a video that showed opening the pumpkin from the bottom, instead of the top/stem. It seemed so obviously backwards, but I thought that about people doing the same when they eat a banana- until I actually tried it.
I like to take the bottom off of cupcakes and then smash it on top of the frosting so it’s more like a cupcake sandwich
Not me. While I’m not a huge Dead fan I know enough about that era and genre to know where his name came from
