Releases tonight at midnight, described as a mix of castlevania and Dark Souls. Positive reviews so far, is a side scroller. $17.99. Been pretty excited about it for awhile, release date kind of snuck up on me. Anyone else giving it a go? http://www.destructoid.com/review-salt-and-sanctuary-348482.phtml http://fextralife.com/salt-and-sanctuary-review-depth-beyond-expectations/
Will definitely. Was a big fan of the dishwasher games and am real interested in the souls like elements in this. I think it's gonna be a Lotta fun
Smart release time too with DS3 coming up. Heard it's pretty long, both reviews said about Spoiler 20-25 hours on the 1st play through so that's excellent.
Have a solid two hours in, initial impressions ... - It's a 2D souls, concepts are the same. Flask is tied to R1 which drives me crazy as I accidentally use it all the time so far. - Skill trees are huge, almost intimidating at first until you dive in and look through. Instead of upgrading END or STR, they are in the tree and connect different weapon styles and things like that. - Zones/Levels are straight out of From Software, can unlock short cuts and open different shrines where you spawn at. - It's fucking hard, no joke. There are some parts I've hit in the early game that give me that awesome FS frustration. - Don't worry too much about opening class, all the skill trees are open and you pick up each classes armor so if you decide you want to switch, shouldn't be an issue. I am going back to reroll a mage eventually, just wanted to check out the early game with sword and board. So far, I would highly recommend for anyone that is a FS fan or can deal with a super hard version of Castlevania/Metroid.
