So around 15 years ago I was a member of a board much like this one, only smaller, more insular, and geared toward PNW pac-10 sports. A few posters from WA made some comments about WSU baseball, and soon after a guy showed up saying he was a certain pitcher for Wazzu. Over the next few years he became a minor personality on the board, and many posters had fun following his career at WSU and then afterwards in the minors. At some point a few posters organized an outing at a minor league baseball game to meet this guy, and when they showed up and introduced themselves he had absolutely no idea who they were. They asked the site mod to use his powers to track the poster down and find out their true identity, and it turns out that all along it was a teenager from Australia using a spoofed IP address, impersonating a WSU pitcher just to fuck with us

That said, this thread has been entertaining today
