So me and my roommate are thinking about flying up to Lousiville KY from Atlanta on 3/9 to see the Flatliners headline a show. The plane tickets and hotel are only $220 a person so why the fuck not? Anyone seen them before? Before I got into them real hard a few years ago I heard they were decent live but idk. They're probably the last of my top 20 punk bands that still tour that I haven't seen (other than Lagwagon maybe?)
Also, have any of you fuckers with spare time had a chance to spin OWTH or the new BR album that dropped today?
home hasnt leaked on what.cd so i havent gotten to listen to it yet unfortunately i do like true north, but at the moment i like dissent of man more
been listening to Agents of the Underground a lot. I also recently discovered Unwritten Law. They are all over the fucking place. Some songs blow me away, then next song I'm like WTF is this? Then on Elva you a bunch of generic 2000s hard rock songs (a few really really good songs on this album though)
Oz Factor is a solid album too. I've seen Unwritten Law live a handful of times. Not sure I've ever seen the lead singer not shitfaced off his ass and singing terribly.
every album has some high points, but top to bottom, blue room is their best. also seen the multiple times, and yeah, he's always shitfaced.
i saw them at warped tour in 99 or 00 and he was good then. the other 4 times i saw them he was a fucking mess.
All my favorite punk bands seem to still put out good music New Good Riddance sounds pretty good New Millencolin sounds really good And this is some band I hadn't heard of, but is enjoyable. Lead singer definitely has a Tom Gabel/Laura Grace sound tandin You can stream the whole album here - http://www.fortheloveofpunk.com/fools-rush-streams-new-album-we-have-clementines/
Listened to less than jake recently and forgot how much I loved them. Also enjoying some lucky boys confusion
Funny this was bumped. Anyone ever listen to Fidlar? Two of the member is greg Kuen from T.S.O.L. sons. I am really digging them and got tickets to their show in Dallas next weekend. Taques I live in DFW area now, if you ever come for a show leta get together. BhamBammer same for you man and be jealous that now I can actually see many different shows I've been missing for years.
That's awesome man, you should have the opportunity to see some excellent shows. I was in DFW for the Bama game a few weeks back, it's always a good time out there. I'm still in fucking Tuscaloosa. Wife doesn't finish grad school for another year, so I'm stuck here for a while longer Speaking of which, how is Philly treating you?
Got to see Tigers Jaw open for New Found Glory last night and they were incredible. Set list (that I can remember): Hum, The Sun, Distress You, Frame You, Plane vs. Tank vs. Submarine, Chemicals. Really great set. Such a good band. And I know I catch shit for still loving NFG, but fuck you. It was probably my 15th NFG show and they're as good as ever.
Like em. Pop punk is blowing up right now with Story So Far, Neck Deep, State Champs, Four Year Strong, Neck Deep, etc. Neck Deep and 4YS new albums are awesome. I also highly recommend Trophy Eyes. Though a little more pop punk hardcoreish.
Heel, are you like following me around the country? We moved back to SC from the west coast at the same time, and now we both moved to TX at the same time...shits weird.
Best part for me was that I don't give a shit about Yellowcard and they were the headliner, so we got to leave after NFG.
Just came across this I've been listening to Elway non-stop the past month. They're so damn good, would love to see them live.
I was devastated when I heard half of Tigers Jaw split a year and a half ago. I'm glad to hear they still sound great, Spirit Desire is one of the best live songs I've ever heard in person.
There are few songs I love belting out more than Plane vs Tank. I heard the first chord and yelled YEAH!!!! Everyone around me looked at me like I had three heads. It was worth it though. Ben and Brianna have a pretty good group of touring musicians. As a band, they were really tight.
Me too, chief. Here's some old stuff. Then again, I'm old, so who gives a fuck. I'm sure a lot of these have already been posted, but fuck it. Iit's still pretty kickass. Some of the old DKM shit when Mike McColgan was with them was awesome I consider Full Circle to be one of my favorite albums of all time of any genre. It's tite from top to bottom. And what punk thread wouldn't be complete without some Social D And for some new stuff. Disclaimer: I like Oi! If you don't know the difference between a S.H.A.R.P./Trad Skin and a neo-Nazi, don't bother watching because you'll think they are racist because they claim the title of 'skinhead' (even though they're expressly non-racist). Whatever you think, this a really catchy tune.
Not punk, but figured some might be interested. Post/Melodic Hardcore banD Thrice is back in the studio recording a new album. They are probably one of my favorite bands, so pretty amped about that
