doesn’t entirely fit ITT anymore, but caught the gaslight anthem’s 59 sound mini reunion tour on the 14th here in Boston. played it front to back and then maybe like 14-15 other songs from the other albums. full 2-hour setlist which was incredible, especially since I was prepared for just the one album pleasantly surprised that i got to hear every song not on the 59 sound I wanted to hear live before the breakup (apart from “handwritten” and something from senor and the queen), including my first dance song which really made the night for me and my wife sad to see em go, but im glad i got to see them play one last time
Never really got into Gaslight since they formed when I was in college. Auburn really wasn't the breeding ground for punk despite this thing called the internet. Definitely like their stuff and would have got into them if they were around when I was in HS.
I'm going to see Strung Out Thursday, and cannot wait. First couple Gaslight Anthem albums were absolutely amazing.
to bad your afraid to play a football game . 20-0 is not good enough huh ? including auburn last year with the sec mvp . well since you know it takes 5 years to schedule a football game we will still be the largest school and the future ..
saw the menzingers only once and it was in lubbock in front of a crowd of at the very most 12, opening for dead to me and against me! they were awesome and played like it was a sold out venue
well its true . same as your politic crap. you know privacy in a ballot box . so ? stupidity picking and choseing a public servant is such a fucked up deal in 2018 - fuck you .
Damn what a fucking lineup. I'm still salty at my work for making me work late and missing the The Menzingers / Jeff Rosenstock / Rozwell Kid show last year.
Pseudo-punk, but did anyone see the Brian Fallon / Craig Finn "Songs from the Hymnal" show? It was awesome, Brian was loose in his element telling stories about every song, being hysterical, etc. Few Gaslight songs (mostly his solo material) but still awesome.
it was a great time, back in 2010 i think, so it was before moscow penny ante and on the impossible past. wish i could have a re-do of that show with their current material
do it imo tbh i go to shows with girls or something sometimes but a lot of times i go solo because most of my friends don’t have the same taste in music i went solo last night
Missed this album earlier this year, but it's pretty damn awesome. Definitely sounds a lot like when the Flatliners were awesome. cc: Taques Lawnole23
If I was still in HS I would have been there. Loved Peabody's. Saw in them ATL on that tour while I was in college
i would kill for places like the Boathouse, Peabody's, and the Norva near me. so many great bands there all the time.
The Norva is a pretty sick venue with the wrap around balcony above the stage/pit. Also the pit floor being below the ground level
fun story, i received two separate head injuries at the Norva, one resulting in me being knocked unconscious. the first time was seeing Unwritten Law, a girl was crowd surfing and some guy decided he was going to toss her, he squats down and explodes upward, throwing her up in the air and she fell directly on top of me. I had a black eye and burns on my face from her jeans. the second time, i was there for the Unseen and Dropkick Murphy's, the first act's drummer decided to stage dive during DM's second song, he was wearing heavy steel-toe boots, as he dove into the crowd the toe of his boot hit me in the forehead and knocked me out. i always had such a great time there.
I got thrown down all the steps at Peabody's (bouncers were notorious assholes) during the NG a Voodoo Glow Skulls show for being too drunk. Sorry for partying Then got let back in through the back door bc I guess one of the opening bands saw and took pity on me
i saw one of their bouncers pulling shoes off off kids who were crowd surfing, tying the laces together and then tossing them over the rafters in the ceiling. he had three pair up there by the end of the show.
gawd daim spell punks like normal people for search functioning you stupid punks I've fallen in love with this band and I feel like (this album at least) fits best in here
metal, not punk obv, but since a lot of us itt are fans of them, baroness released the album art for their upcoming gold and grey really looking forward to it
Hell yeah, I went to the LA Forum show in 2017 so am sitting this one out, but killer opener lineup. Let me know how Bank of Cal is as a venue - I'm curious
This Prince Daddy & the Hyena album that came out yesterday is legit amazing. Might be my album of the year so far after a couple listens. It's a rock opera in the The Monitor / Black Parade / American Idiot style where he compares his various mental health states to the Wizard of Oz.
Would be such an amazing show. Bummed I didn't buy tickets to Riot fest when they played for the first time one like 25 years
I know I’m the biggest pop punk/twinklecore fan ITT, but the new Tiny Moving Parts is going to be so good. First single is awesome, and the video is great (though gory and kinda gross).
Will be my first time there but I’m sure no big venue in the L.A. area is as good as the Forum for sound.
Was great, Danzig’s voice is still good for 64 y/o. Rise Against was solid but hardly played any old stuff. Not sure Tim has the voice to pull some of that off anymore. Distillers crushed it. Brody’s voice is still amazing. And one eclectic crowd to say the least.
