Not sure if anyone here can help me with this and I don't have all the info exactly, but I'm looking at a house with an exercise room and the owners want to negotiate the equipment within.

I don't know all of the equipment off-hand, but there is an elliptical, treadmill, rowing machine, multi-use lat-pulldown/pull-up machine thing with seat, squat rack/bench, freeweights, weight rack, etc. Anyone know how much it's worth?

I think the elliptical brand is Octane Fitness, the treadmill and rowing machine are life fitness I believe.

I honestly have no idea what the equipment is worth used, being sold by someone that would have to pay probably a lot to have it moved.

My guess was a few grand, but my fiance thought it was way more.

Things like the rowing machine, treadmill, etc. -- and I'm somewhat guessing here because I can't see the exact models/brands -- which look to be decent quality are each close to $1000 alone. Like Redav pointed out, those weights are probably collectively worth a grand. You're looking at anywhere between $5,000 - $10,000 worth of shit in there depending on the age and brands of the equipment.

You feeling lucky, punk? I'd wager that they're only selling it because it doesn't get used or their new place doesn't have that kind of room. I'd begrudgingly offer $1k to take it off their hands.

Garage sale value on it. I wouldn’t pay much. The cost to move it is going to be significant.

If they are entertaining selling it they either
    a. Don’t use it
    b. Can buy new

either way, offer whatever you can afford in the context of buying a new hone

also, secondary market rn for fitness equipment is nuts so if you ever want to sell

They use it, have seen the owner's instagram. Think it's more an issue of moving it. That can't be cheap and probably just not worth it.

True now but may not be the case for too much longer. I’m hoping in a few months the second hand market gets flooded as people go back to the gym and I can get weights on the cheap.

As others have said I’d prob offer on the lower end.

Have a buddy who has it. He says the most value he got was with sleep patterns. Back before covid hit he was traveling every week, so it was helpful there. Aside from that, unless you’re a professional athlete I think most of the stuff is pretty intuitive.

Not to say not to get it, I just know it’s pretty expensive

Because everyone needs a little sunshine pumping...

I'm in the best shape I've been in since I was like 18-19 and playing college football. I'm either working out or doing yoga Mon-Fri, and hiking every single weekend. Past 3 weekends I've hiked:
    -14 miles/2,500 ft (one day)
-24 miles/3,000 ft (two days) (with 40-50 lb pack)
    -13 miles/2750 ft (one day)

Sunday I generally do a light, full body resistance band work just to get some blood pumping to my upper body.

Have some huge hikes planned for the rest of the summer. This next weekend doing 37 miles/6,000 ft over 3 days/2 nights on the Olympic Peninsula (with 40-50 lb pack). Labor Day hoping to do Section J of the PCT, 70 miles, 16,000 ft (up and down) over 5 days.

Still doing veggie meal prep Mon-Fri, eating relatively healthy on the weekends. My alcohol consumption is generally 90-95% beer, but I've started drinking a little more wine on chill nights, and have lost a good bit of my belly and midsection. Combined with my hiking, my legs are really strong and my waist is getting smaller. I'm not building a lot of upper body with primarily resistance bands + yoga, but my arms/shoulders/back are getting toned AF.

Everything sucks and the entire US is burning, but I feel fucking great. Have two best friends I do most of my hikes with, we drive separate cars and sleep in our own tents on the trail. It's not perfect, but certainly better than any outdoor seating or socially distancing at a restaurant.

Started working out three times a week doing full body dumbbell workouts.

    20 dumbbell pushups
    15 goblet squats
    12 dumbbell clean and press
    14 dumbbell lunges
    12 dumbbell curls
    12 standing rear delt raises
    40 dumbbell Russian twists
    8 dumbbell kickbacks

Started yoga yesterday and will likely do it in the mornings and maybe in the afternoon a couple times a week on my rest days. Definitely put me in a much more chill mood this morning before work.

Trying to eat (And drink) a little healthier. Ranch water (light on the tequila) and red wine instead of all beers in the evenings. Bunch of chicken, turkey, lunchmeat. Upped protein intake significantly. Totally cheat on all of the above on the weekends, though

Trying not to stress about Covid as much as I have, which is tough. Still find myself checking that thread for any inkling of evidence of a breakthrough...of course not holding my breath but I do like to stay informed on current events.

Trying to write some music, trying to get more sleep. Got a good 7.5 hours last night as opposed to the typical 6.5. Going to aim for 8 tonight.

So yeah, got some stuff to focus on

Really picked up running during all this. I’ve started running in the morning and then continuing Crossfit workouts in afternoon. Either in my front yard or our gym has been doing outdoor workouts. July workouts on blacktop at 5pm are absolutely brutal.

Fastest cheat here is to cut bad weight if you have any. Honestly best way to get better at them is just to do them over and over. Experiment with your grip and grip width to try and locate where your weaknesses might be. I’d just start out with a number, say 20-30 reps, and try to get that many regardless of how many sets it takes (If you can do 5 clean reps I wouldn’t do 5 off the bat on first set, spread it out). Also just hanging from the bar at the end of the workout can build grip strength

My wife and I pre quarantine were gym goers 4-6 times a week depending on schedule, etc

Since March, have been cutting (down 12 lbs) and working with home equipment - dumbbells, kettlebells, bands, heavy bag and other miscellaneous equipment we have compiled over the years.

Hesitant to jump head first back in gym and are considering buying a squat rack and other things and just turning half the garage into a full time home gym. The thinking is the local gym becomes a supplement to our home gym in the future, say 2021ish. Also, falling in love with dripping sweat on a hot ass day in the garage with the door open and my music as loud as I want.

I’ve been trying to work in 1-2 days, but most everything I find in terms of videos to follow are either like 25-30 minutes (too short) or like 90 minutes (way too long). Was wondering if that’s just what was common or if I’m just not coming across the 45-60 minute sweet spot.

have a 15 minute routine I found on IG maybe? Approx 6-7 poses, cycle through for 15 minutes or maybe 3-4 rounds?

It depends on the type of yoga. If it’s either Vinyasa or a power yoga, then it definitely feels like a workout. I know Fitbits aren’t 100% accurate but since I use mine daily it’s at least a consistent gauge to compare activities by. On Tuesday I did a “restorative” session for 20 minutes and was kind of surprised at how few calories I burned. It was maybe 70.
