    Been working out regularly for 8 months now, including weights and cardio throughout. Just started a new program a few days ago and Monday was back and biceps day. I thought I was over being sore by now, but holy shit I was awakened at 3:00 this morning because when I tossed in my sleep my right arm must have straightened out and I felt a shock of pain. My arm is so incredibly sore right now I can’t even straighten it without wincing. And it’s not an injury because I don’t feel anything like a tear or a specific pinpoint. Just tremendous soreness right where the bicep connects to the elbow. Damn!

    Foam roller, joined a country club for golf, then got a patio installed and set up a net to hit golf balls when I'm not at said club... so golf.

    Walk 3-4 miles five days a week and do resistance bands and push ups. Still sucks as I miss the gym and lifting but I haven’t been able to go since March.

    Shit it’s been five months since I’ve ate at a restaurant or been inside a grocery store.

    I went to the gym once a couple of weeks ago to try it out. Haven’t been back but that’s just because been busy with kid and whatnot. Still running in the park but I’d like to get back to the gym. It requires a mask and you have to reserve a time slot. When I went there wasn’t anyone in there and this is a massive 24 Hour fitness gym.

    We’ve eaten inside restaurants a few times but more so at outside seating.

    Eh, I’m not going to cast aspersions at anyone for their personal decisions that don’t affect others. If you show up at a restaurant or gym maskless, then yeah you’re an asshole that deserves ridicule and scorn because your actions affect others. But if your comfort zone doesn’t extend to going to restaurants or grocery stores then that’s your call. I have no idea what factors play into those personal decisions so I can’t judge.

    For me, I’ve felt comfortable going to outdoor restaurants, I do my regular weekend errands (with a mask on) and we worked in a beach vacation in Marco Island where we masked up in the hotel lobby and hallways, but managed to eat all meals outdoors and kept to ourselves at the beach and pool.

    Our grocery stores have no contact pickup. Just pop the trunk and they put it in and that’s it.

    You have to wear a mask inside anywhere here now. They’ll kick you out of the gym if they see you take it off. It’s mandatory everywhere inside now.

    My wife has Lupus and kidney disease so we can’t take any risks. Everything is delivered. Thankfully we were able to rent a beach house on captiva island and isolate from everyone for a week to get away last month.

    Even then we brought our own sheets, pillows and wiped everything down with bleach once we got there.

    It’s mostly small reef sharks in that area, although I did see a fat old tiger the fisherman call ‘Lucy’ about a 1/4 mile from where that pic was taken. She swam right underneath me and dwarfed my 11ft board.

    It feels really good when it gets to Thurs/Fri, and I've eaten everything from Sunday meal-prep and have not spent an extra dime on food. Covid sucks and I'd rather have my life back, but I've saved so much money.

    Been keeping it simple due to pretty busy weekends, doing a variation of the same thing for the summer:

    Breakfast: smoothies with 1 raw egg, spoonful of greek yogurt, spoonful of chia/hemp seeds, 12-16oz of almond/pea/oat milk, + spinach/kale/some leafy green + blueberries/bananas/pineapple/mangos/strawberries/raspberries/etc. -- just get 1 green and a few different fruits for 5 days. I've probably been doing this most of the time for 5 years

    Lunch & dinner: base of brown rice/white rice (usually jasmine)/quinoa/mixture/couscous/pasta + random assortment of broccoli/asparagus/peppers/carrots/etc. + sauce/topping/etc. Sometimes throw in tofu or chickpeas for additional protein. This week went with pasta w/ broccoli, red peppers, eggplant, and tofu, with pesto. Real good. Basically just buddha bowls I guess?

    I'll probably get more creative when the weather turns to shit and I'm inside a lot more. Then Fri-Sun you can eat and drink as much as you want and not feel too guilty about it.

    have pretty much the same diet but I eat chicken and seafood with the same mix ins

    then the indica hits late at night and I undo all that work

    I don't buy sugary junk food because I'll devour it every night around 9-10 PM. Nuts, hummus, bars, veggie chips.

    Real surfers don't even surf for 3 hours, so I guess you are counting driving to the beach, parking the car, waxing the board, putting the leash on before charging into the surf, 10 mins paddling out, 30 minutes of doing nothing in the lineup, spent 15 mins getting "pitted", then making up the rest to post to impress TMB.

    No I was in the water from 2 to 5 trading waves with a 4 man outrigger. The benefit to living somewhere that isn’t completely over infested w humans.

    Corky Bucek can I get some tips on how to park closer to the ocean and fight my way through this heinous lineup?

    Also I spent 4-5 hrs in the water today, how long can I brag to TMB that I surfed for, about 18 minutes? Can I add 5 minutes to that if I didn’t wax up?

    Any beginner stretching recommendations on YouTube? Trying to make this is a 2021 goal to supplement my Hiit workouts.

    I’ve had to abandon a couple of sets in workouts recently because I get really sharp low back pain on my left side. I don’t think it’s a disc. Definitely muscle spasms are there, but I think it’s just a really tight IT band that gets inflamed. Hurts like a motherfucker for a few days then goes away with rest. I really need a good stretching routine for dealing with that so I don’t get flare ups so often. Usually flares up when doing leg work like goblet squats, weighted lunges, etc.

    A little bit in terms of radiation down into my left quad area. But the radiation is more of a tingling than sharp pain.

    Stretch out your hips. Putting pressure on your lower back with tight hips always gets me. I love glute bridges before doing anything where I’m involving hips

    Could potentially be a pinched nerve too then. I’ve had the same problems previously. Flares up from time to time, after a while it will go away. Back stretches help.

    Though be warned to confirm with 100% certainty it’s a pinched nerve they have to do some sort of scan as X-rays won’t be able to determine it.

    I never got it done because I didn’t think it was worth the money even though it was bothering my entire right leg. I just trusted the doc was probably right, did the stretches, and tried to avoid things I knew would trigger it. After a long while it finally went away.

    i’ve been able to go to gym and just stay away from ppl. sometimes i move weights really far from where they are stored and find a spot in the gym away from everyone. Several times i’ve just had to abandon workouts. I run away from ppl like they have the plague. They probably think i’m an asshole but idgaf. Have 2 gym memberships and a peleton so i rotate around. Sometimes one gym is too packed so i audible to the other gym. sometimes they are both too packed and i abandon altogether and go do peleton at home

    I can understand not wanting to do cardio with a mask but they should make ppl lift with a mask. I do it every time. Ppl act like they are gonna die if they have to have mask

    Although I don’t think I’ve gotten a thorough work out in since the pandemic. Basically get half a work out in before a mouth breather with no mask makes me give up
