Who cares where they originated from when their only goal is to get them out of their current area? And you’re applying private seller logic to the government. The two are not the same. Stolen parts become government property once they are confiscated. That means they can do with them whatever they choose. When has the government cared about how much taxpayer money is spent? Not to mention, if you are gonna make a profit greater than the cost of fuel then it’s still a net gain. Especially when the original plan is to destroy them and not earn anything. Don’t need to start or watch a YouTube channel to understand common sense.

They’re sold at next to nothing because the goal is to get rid of them as quickly as possible and (this the important part) with as little effort as possible. I do know how these things work which is why I made alternate suggestions to start with. And you keep mentioning that they’ll end up right back with the people they were taken from in the first place. Which again is the main reason to suggest something besides the standard action of a local fire sale. Saying something won’t work because it’s not how something is currently done is silly.
