Ehh easy to say when watching on video. In real life, I get throwing a few more to neutralize the threat of a guy that was attacking him. He doesn't have time to check the status of the guy that was just attacking him.
I mean cops are literally trained to shoot to kill. To neutralize the threat. If they get to do that, that guy gets to throw a few more punches to defend himself when a guy was attacking him.
This is 1000% opposite his bad cops thread takes. He knew the fight was over everything after maybe 1 punch in the ground was vengeful.
You’re right, he crossed the line. Still, the adrenaline + anger of taking that many shots before getting the upper hand feels like a pretty reasonable explanation for two or three extra punches after the guy was out. Even professional fighters need to be pulled off of their opponent, let alone a dude on the street. Fights are scary as fuck to be in and I don’t think most of us have the textbook form and etiquette that’s easy to apply from the outside.
The real culprit in that fight video is the girl that tries to intervene. Her distraction gives the guy in the sweatshirt an opportunity to gain side control, and it’s all over from there.
