I mean I cook a fuck ton and wouldn’t ever have an electric stove again. I love cooking with gas. (energy companies my Venmo is open)
I dislike the planted propaganda and all, but anyone who has used a gas stove knows that it is objectively better than electric. The fossil fuel industry would be smart to just give people gas ranges and they'd have them hooked for life.
I already have a gas line available as a result of my fireplace. I live in FL and use it very little though, so my gas costs are minimal. Talk me into the cost increase.
I will step back my previous comment to say that gas is objectively better than conventional electric. If you're willing to get induction (which is equipment as or more expensive than gas and requires compliant cookwear), you can get most of the benefits of gas. It's faster, you have more control, heat distribution is more even, and they work when your power goes out.
I have an glass top electric range (small kitchen and needed as much flat space as possible) and it is much better at regulating temperature than previous electric models. I do love gas stoves still, I just think the gap is closing with additional technology.
If your just talking about your monthly bill it's going to be a very small increase. I have gas everything, oven/stove, water heater, clothes dryer and furnace so it's hard to break out what's what on my bill but in the summer when not using my furnace I only pay around $10 a month for all those other things. So I would guess my oven/stove use is like $2 a month in gas cost.
I see how I was unclear. I meant that induction met "most of the benefits of gas" and then listed the benefits of gas, not the benefits of induction.
