I’m telling you this as a friend - stop getting your news from the daily caller.
Our wedding photographer made my now brother-in-law get out of every family picture to get a second just in case without him so we could swap out if necessary. It was really obvious and hilarious that nobody liked him and our photographer played along great.
Too bad for me that douche nozzle ended up marrying my wife’s sister.
Just send a gift and be glad you don’t have to attend
I didn't know this was a thing until now. I've got a buddy from undergrad getting married next Friday. I had invited a friend I've been seeing this summer. I went on his wedding registry site to add her name and it immediately went "Error". So I texted him and he goes "Yeah man, no dates are allowed. We made a mistake on our RSVP page and I'm having to call 40+ ppl to let them know that they can't bring a date". I'm not exactly looking forward to telling her this. But it's not my rule.
This reminded me of the episode of The Office when Michael Scott was removed from the wedding party photos.
Putting together my wedding guest list right now, and IMO the easiest way to cut down on guests (and costs) is to cut out +1's for my single male friends provided they don't have a serious girlfriend. When I'm already having to draw a line amongst my friends, cutting out the +1 for a buddy who may bring a random piece of wool is a super easy decision. I've told them all, and no one seems to care (yet)
Unless it’s specified that you get a +1, you don’t bring a date
it was specified on this wedding registry. But apparently that was an error that was not supposed to happen.
That just sucks for all involved then, lot of awkward convos all around
I've never actually heard of it. Is it fake news?
It was founded by tucker Carlson...
This seems like a non-confrontational source...
If 40 fucking people without plus ones showed up with dates to my wedding, I would lose it
Isn't it also the news agency Matt Walsh & Ben Shapiro work for?
Yeah, sounds like they really messed up their invites, but imo unless you have a wife or serious gf you aren’t usually going to get a plus one.
If any single friend seriously cares about not getting a +1 invite they are a selfish fucking asshole. Cutting down the guest list has to be the most stressful and money conscious decision for the couple and their families, if somebody got pissed he can’t bring a rando to pose with for instagram I would tell him to get lost. I’ve gotten wedding invites for just myself as well as others that included a guest invite and haven’t thought anything other than gratitude either way.
Had a buddy do an all-inclusive Punta Cana destination wedding and thought it was a great way around this. He could literally invite as many people as he wanted without repercussion, and the wedding was essentially free for him. I realize it's not for everyone, and I tend to loathe all-inclusive resorts, but I thought his wedding was great.
Always wanted to do that or something really tiny as to not have to worry about shit that shouldn't have to be worried about.
this is an insane story where i have to keep reminding myself these insane rich people are all doing this about preschool
obligatory bwi2 tag
They do a good piece on this in the gangster capitalism podcast (about the college admissions scandal)
It's so nuts
Woman accused of shooting husband while trying to shoot someone else in road rage incident
An Alabama woman involved in a road rage incident attempted to shoot another person involved in the dispute -- but she shot her husband instead, authorities said.
"During the incident, an altercation occurred in which, the offender, Erica Cole, attempted to shoot a second party but shot her husband, Nicholas Cole, striking him in the head," Deputy Brad Williams, a spokesman for the Cullman County Sheriff's Office said.
The road rage incident took place Saturday, beginning in Dodge City and ending at a residence in Breman, he said.
Cole, who lives in Breman with his wife, was in stable condition, according to reports.
Erica Cole, 31, was arrested after deputies conducted an investigation in conjunction with prosecutors, according to reports.
Mugshot for Erica Cole, 31. (Cullman County Sheriff's Office )
Deputies charged her with attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment, Al.com reported.
She was jailed without bond.
It’s unclear if Erica Cole has an attorney, the Associated Press reported.
Those appear to be some rough 31 years she has endured
been seeing on the news in Texas about a road rage incident where a guy shot into a family's car and hit fireworks that went off. Kids were hurt :(
I wish Obama would start inviting championship teams to his house.
Edit -wrong thread but still
Do these people also hate fun?
The pros are that the females can’t either. So if you’re single the competition has been thinned
Damn...scammers are ever evolving. Tempting!
I realize I'm a little late on this, but I'm surprised there is so much support for not giving everyone a +1 for wedding invites. Everyone at my wedding got one, regardless of how ridiculous their +1 was. Kind of adds to the fun imo.
I still can't get over single dudes trying to bring a plus one to a wedding. Regardless of whether they have the option or not.
Y'all's wives must have some notably busted girl friends.
As a married guy I’d venture to guess that a wedding date is about establishing the ongoing sexes instread of a one-and-done.
you’re both right and you’re both wrong
Damn this explains a lot about your terrible posting
