What kind of habits we trying to build in 2021?
-write Goodreads and letterboxd reviews for what I watch/read.
-keep up my training for climbing so when I can travel again I'm ready to go.
-commit to cooking at least one super involved new cuisine/meal a month
-spend consistent time on my art projects
I wonder why the random thoughts topic needs a refresh annually. No other topics seem to.
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Never heard of letterboxd . Looks like a goodreads for movies?
The SEC football thread does. We generally retire Bama threads after 1000 pages or so
Because it means more!
It makes cataloging my word docs a lot simpler.
Barves was here
Yep. I failed at getting into creative writing last year so taking a different approach by having a more focused approach to my writing and see where that takes me. Plus, I've never been good at articulating what I like about movies and TV shows and books in an intelligent way so will be good to practice that way.
Gonna take Meatball magnet fishing today, he fucking loves it
I think OSU team thread does.
So does the EPL thread
The GOUT 12 thread used to have to be started new 1-2 times a year as it would get so big there would be loading issues.
Those were simpler times.
First page smug.
I’ve always had the same problem with reviewing stuff like that but not with products, for example. I mean I’m not writing several paragraph or several page reviews on products either, but I’ve never really found a way to express why I like a certain show, movie, or book.
I kinda think in a way it really involves one being able to adequately express their feelings. With a product it’s really just expressing how it does or doesn’t meet a utility, it’s normally not really an emotional experience reviewing a computer mouse, a keyboard, phones, headphones, etc. But reviewing stuff like books and visual media isn’t really about the technical aspect unless you’re looking at it from a technical aspect like an athlete studying film, for example.
Hello at the 2021 random thoughts thread
Agreed. Plus, even when looking at the technical aspects, I'm not knowledgeable enough about those aspects to comment on them.
E.g. I really enjoy the color and tone of Blade Runner 2049, but can't really do it justice with an accurate description in writing.
I'm having a couple bagels with plain cream cheese
What kind of bagels? I had an everything with butter for breakfast and paired with a pour over Kenyan coffee from a local shop. /tweet
Just some plain ones. Nothing exciting or particularly good
Rotisserie chicken from costco and mashed sweet potatoes
Oh and water drink
made a pan pizza with meatballs I needed to use up and a bunch of onions/peppers. turned out incredible.
and a beer drink
A good bagel and cream cheese has one of the highest breakfast food ceilings.
Shoveling in some brownies and other assorted junk before I hit the diet tomorrow.
Chicken wings, garlic parm potato chips, and Michigan bball...it’s been a nice evening
