I think why our art sucks now is because you almost have to come from money to make it. No one can afford to live in places like LA and NY while trying to make it or be in a band that endlessly tours for next to nothing before they make. It shallows up our pool of prospective artists very quickly

Parents are laying something like 300 dollars a month via satellite and internet. Was at my parents this weekend. YouTube and YouTubetv was quite hard to explain. “We have the YouTube already” finally got that sorted and was trying to see what their internet is. they are paying 100 dollars a month for 6mb down. Wtf they are in rural south ga and the electric company got a grant to run fiber internet via telephone lines so they can have 1gb fiber for 70 bucks a month. “should we switch?” well yes i would have switched yesterday
I tried doing this with my parents to switch to Fiber and Hulu. And my dad is like I wont know how to use it. So they will still be paying double for the rest of their lives

well i got them switched but history channel was a big sticking point. Showed them the on demand history app and it was fine. After that. Other sticking point was that their current internet is via telephone connections so never a goes out with power and they can have internet with the generator. Took my calling my buddy who basically runs the local emc to tell him fiber is along the same poles but isn’t subject to failures like the power lines. Also making them upgrade their wifi not sure he can reach 10 feet.
