Was this you? The NSA is secretly spying on its citizens.. “Why do I care? I’ve got nothing to hide.”
Many of the baiting random acts of kindness and then supersizing them with money videos are probably fake anyway, but I have a gripe. That gripe is that a higher percentage that I’ve seen lately end up giving stuff away to someone who obviously isn’t in need at all. Like giving things away to people in ski gear in Breckinridge ain’t the move, bro.
My dad is a classic example of the way technology just passes you by when you get older. 20 years ago he was really good with computers because he used those programs for work, (he would even show me how to run MS-DOS, which was unbelievably less user friendly than systems are now) and now he’s computer illiterate.
My 3-year old was confused about two things that were similar but different with different names. Like a kayak and a canoe or something idk, I just caught the end of the conversation. My MIL tried to explain it as “like taxis and Ubers are similar but have different names.”
Me in shower listening to end of audiobook chapter “it’s kinda hard to hear in the shower, wonder if they make audio books with subtitles.” at first I told myself I’m a dumbass that’s just a book. Then I got to thinking, maybe an audio book that also scrolls the words in unison with the audio isn’t a terrible idea.
I follow a few book related accts on social media. Quite a few people will listen to the audiobook while reading a physical copy or kindle.
From what Ive seen, some people do it because they want the experience of an audiobook but cant really pay attention to it. Im sympathetic to that. Id love to listen to audiobooks, but my mind wonders and I lose any retention. Also have seen people say it helps them read faster. Kick up the speed to 1.5 and they read along.
Basically the right wing has worked the refs like it always does. Now being 'fair and objective' is calling 50% balls and 50% strikes, regardless of where the pitches actually are. So now everything has to be some version of "Republicans attempted a soft coup, but were unsuccessful, is that really any worse than Dem supported riots against police brutality?" (Nevermind no dems actually supported the rioting or encouraged it like the GOP actively initiated Jan 6)
Same. I miss so much trying to listen to them because I end up thinking of other stuff as opposed to reading the actual book. My wife is the opposite and only listens to audiobooks all day long. She does get to “read” a ton more books than I do though because I only read before bed.
I can listen to some non fiction history books and be ok. But for some reason, novels just dont stick. I also just enjoy reading on my kindle. One of the few times, Im actually unplugged, sad to say
I just found out that Tony Bruno was a real person, not just a Madden 2005 character, and he's a QAnon Radio host now
Well really it's like assisted reading. I've seen different type formats and such that are supposed to help dyslexic folks read easier. I wonder if audiobook/hard copy combo reading might accomplish the same or help others with different reading or comprehension issues.
Definitely, and wasnt discounting that at all. Just saying read the words as they appear is by all accounts reading lol
which why I initially said I was a dumbass. But it’s kinda like a song along vs reading the words in a page. It could help with the flow of the novel etc. it’s probably a stupid idea but I bet someone would buy it and use it
One of our teachers/youth leaders in high school had this argument with his friends in hs or college and they wrote a letter to Cheez-It to settle the argument.
My current favorite thing to do is sneak up on the wife from behind, yell "BUTT!" and try to shove a finger up there through her yoga pants. Only one of us are enjoying this.
A) Username checks out. B) I'm just going to leave this here- https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...nd-relationship-advice-thread.178552/page-111

It sure if there are any Bonfire guys left and I couldn’t find the new comedy thread, but Dan Soden pulled Katie Nolan?
My brother and I would kill it in this game. Use to play this all the time growing up. Big brother move - hit one really high and easy to get to. When he's reaching up to hit it - atomic wedgie.
