I realize this is a sports-based website, but some people sports way too hard. Like why is your evening dedicated to watching scores change in real time for entire leagues?
Weekends/Saturdays really slow down without the full CFB slate which is pretty nice , at least for a few months
I realize this is a sports-based website, but some people TMB way too hard. Like why is your morning, afternoon, and evening dedicated to keeping up with all the shit posting here?
When I reference something I read here I say I saw it on “a college football message board I go to.” “Oh, you all just post about college football all day?” LOLNO
I don't have a wife, girlfriend, or kids, what the fuck else am I going to do as a 38-year-old on a random Tuesday?
typically i I used to sports really hard... followed the 4 major sports (pro and college), followed recruiting intently, etc. these days it's CFB and the NBA and I've been consuming less college football than I've ever had before and don't really follow recruiting as well
I went to small town Jr high and high school (until he dropped out) with a guy who shot his girlfriend in the face a few years ago He wasn't a very nice guy back then either We all kinda knew his freedom would be forcefully taken from him at some point
That thing where my iphone auto-suggests the PIN when I'm doing two-factor authentication is probably my favorite innovation of the last couple years.
I was always on the board in front of the wife and occasionally show her stuff and eventually she got annoyed enough with it to get her own account. "Well fine, I'll just sign up"
I think part of why I enjoy college football (and the NFL, although obviously it's a little more spread out) so much is that it's compressed into such a small timeframe. Lots of anticipation, consume as much as possible, and then there's a huge break and you can be a "normal" person. Over the years since going to college I've gradually drifted away from following MLB and the NHL (been out on the NBA for nearly 20 years) because there's just so much of it.
Oooh, this brings up an interesting question. How many tmb'ers wives have secret tmb accounts of their own so they can monitor all our bullshit. My wife would have blown her cover by now (why don't you just go like more posts in the thick bitches thread you freak), but there has to be at least one savvy tmb WAG that is compiling a mountain of evidence against their spouse.
i had just walked away from the deli counter at the grocery store when someone walks up and accidentally drops a handgun on the floor. what a fucking idiot. i don't know if i appreciated how badly that could've gone in the moment.
Re: sports fanaticism, mine has dwindled so much in the past 5-7 yrs. Part of it is moving to WA and ppl just dont care as much. WA friends are always shocked that fall weddings in the South are a huge faux paus.
They got added to door dash out here about 6 months ago. Worth a shot man. I’ve been in your shoes before.
i'm watching mike tyson highlights. there were a lot of guys who got knocked down and came back for some more, and immediately got cracked in the face again he's also fighting like 8 times a year for some reason
His highlights are so much fun. Most violent shit ever. I remember before UFC blew up we would watch knockouts in college. Just beating unconscious ppl senseless.
Used to watch Kimbo Slice beat people’s ass’ in backyards and parking lots and loved when he asked if they were alright after
The only sport I'd say I'm still hooked on is cfb. I'll watch it all day on fall saturdays. I watch most Braves game, but I'm not doing anything else on week nights, so that doesn't feel so bad. Don't care at all about NFL, NBA, whatever else at this point.
You talking like Safeway the grocery store has hot Chinese food? Never knew but we don’t have any either.
Yep, the college football season largely being contained in a 3 month window makes it nice. It would be too much if it's more than that. I basically stopped watching hockey when the Wings stopped making the playoffs, because so much of my time had been comsumed with playoff hockey every spring for 20+ years.
I think baseball has surpassed CFB for me, maybe slightly. Part of it is the head injury stuff and brutality of the game -- I'll always love and watch football most chances I get, but it's not the same as it used to be. And give me 5 years after Saban's gone and I'll be desperate again.
I used it once on my previous insurance because it was cheaper to get a Rx thru there than my pharmacy. If I didn't have insurance, I'd be getting my Rx thru costplusdrugs.com. It's one of Mark Cuban's ventures (link), I can get a 90-day supply of my Rx for $6.60 + whatever shipping would be. Thru CVS Caremark it's $8.34 with free shipping.
