Last full weekend in the US for about 6 months, about to start a bender in New Orleans until probably Monday. Leave for South America next Sunday until April/May.

Oysters at a fancy bar tonight, then a jazz band in Treme (favorite neighborhood in Nola) with good friends at a dirty dive bar
Pretend to work tomorrow AM, afternoon golf with a good friend. Probably going to Nuggets @ Pelicans (hey it almost tagged you Pelican )
Saturday recover, Saturday night show at the infamous Tipitina's, seeing a Dr. John tribute band
Sunday football at a friend's house for a low country boil

You aren’t going to Mexico this year?

 

Argentina and Chile for December, then Mexico from January - April/May. Guess "Latin America" is more accurate than South America if we're splitting hairs.

 

Or just being geographically accurate, but ah nevertheless

 

Being outside at our house (15+ miles away, across a river) was untenable today. Several counties have closed schools for tomorrow and there is talk of evacuations for both fire risk and air quality.

Yep. Pic is looking at the fire from my mom's driveway. All good thus far, but the smoke thing, literally being so thick it's hard to breathe, is pretty off putting. Hope Shawn Hunter s friend is okay.

 

Being out until 4 was a choice I am now regretting

 

I stayed out until 4:30 last weekend and felt completely fine when I woke up around 11 Sunday morning. It was kind of frightening, tbh.

 

I certainly do not feel fine. But the brass band at Les Bon Temps was worth it. As was smoking jamokes on the pool table at Ms Mae's.

And the intercourse. Huzzah!

 

And after a 2 hour nap I am a functioning adult again

I also don't why I never hear anyone talk about Angelo Brocato in mid city but if you've got a sweet tooth just an amazing 120 year old Gelato and Italian pastry spot that is fire. And have the espresso for a nice pick me up too.

This is going to sound gross, and frankly, it is

I have a fucking fruit fly infestation at my place. I forgot how prevalent they are in the south and 3 weeks ago kept some fruit in the trashcan too long. I have killed more than 100 fruit flies over the past week. I have cups of sugar water + apple cider vinegar in various places. I have those nasty ass sticky fly traps hanging in the living room. The cups get 10-20 dead flies in them over a day.

And. they. keep. multiplying.

 

Are you 100% sure you've eliminated the source they are feeding/breeding on?

 

You sure they aren’t drain flies coming out of the sink?

 

Google tells me these are fruit flies with the big fucking red eyes. Are they the same?
