Basin, on Magazine. Great etouffe. Then played pool until midnight with a buddy at one of the best dives in the world, Le Bon Temps
Bon Temps is always solid. Henry's probably had my favorite dumbass promotion in the history of bars when they had flip Fridays and you flipped a coin to determine whether of not you had to pay the tab so people would just be ordering shots for the entire bar every five minutes.
Me: put this drink in your cup holder. 5 year old: my cup holder is full. There's cookie crumbles and paper. The cookie crumbles have been there since I was 3. Is that gross? Me: yes that's gross. And also not true. 5 year old (streaming): you got me this cookie at target when I was 3!
Best dive bar in Little Rock has a game Thursday nights where you launch beer bottles across the room towards a trashcan. Goes in rounds. Last person to not make their shot has to pay the tab for all the beers that got tossed that night. It's called Bottle Toss at Midtown Billiards. It's incredible and has ruined many lives.
Prime has ruined me. Bought something on 12/17 that won't arrive until 12/27 and I couldn't be saltier
Third straight year this area has been battered by massive waves. Part of the Santa Cruz wharf got swept away this afternoon, two dead in the area from being swept out or getting hit by wave debris, and low areas under mandatory evacuation tonight.
not sure how no league claimed tonight’s wide open sports schedule. really sucks there won’t be anything on outside of the Hawaii bowl.
there was a spot in Denver that did this and we’d go for happy hour after work… and we’d do exactly what you’re describing 30 tequila shots hinging on heads or tails
I feel like their used to be bowl games regularly on Christmas Eve and day. A noon - 4 - 8 triple header of bowl games yesterday would have been awesome.
I remember seeing a doom quote/article about social media "coming for every second of your day," when in reality it's sports, mainly football. I don't need 10 months, 5 days/week of football. It's so good because it only takes up 2-3 days/week. The advertising/money grab of all sports has made me so much less of a fan over the past 5 or so years.
I feel like the twilight zone between Christmas and NYE is even more pronounced when both fall in the middle of the week. The fuck am I expected to do today?
Society failed because the goal of companies isn’t to just make money. Their goal is to get every last dollar they can and grow at all costs. and by companies I mean any organization at all including colleges and universities for some unknown fucking reason.
Probably the only thing I dislike about living on the west coast is the lack of sports options at night -- most everything is over by like 8:00 PM. So USC - a&m starting at 7:30 PST gets my juices going.
That's bad advice NPR! I'm not old and boring I don't have kids I still enjoy socializing with friends, sometimes even on school nights! We've even gone crazy and stayed out until 10:30 before It doesn't get dark until like 10:00 PM in the summer - are you drastically changing your sleep schedule throughout the year? Or just going to sleep when it's bright AF outside? luv u bb
Interesting, I really don't. I'm 11:00 PM - 6:30/7:00 AM almost every weeknight. I don't even set an alarm anymore unless I had a few beers.
Not unusual to go to sleep this time of year closer to 9, 10 at the latest unless I’m watching sports. Summer its 11:00+ regularly because of the light. Wake up considerably later in the summer because the kids sleep later because we don’t have to get them to school. Now my body wakes me up at like 5:00 am and it’s fuckin stupid. I’m always up getting their shit all set up by like 6 regardless tho so whatever
As you all know, my name is Callum and I just wanted to share with you boys that I got engaged earlier
