Just saw an ad for this. I like how they even make the product stand up in a soldier salute, for those too stupid to connect the dots with the name
I've heard conservatives talk shit about Jimmy Carter's presidency most my life. But the Iran situation and stagflation were largely out of his control , bad timing, and random luck of the draw for him. Everyone talks about what he did after his presidency which was indeed awesome. But what about what he did during his presidency including the Camp David Accords where he brokered the first peace treaty between Israel and an Arab nation, the SALT II treaty negotiation, creating the Department of Energy, creating the Department of Education , protecting 103 million acres of Alaskan land, civil service reform , deregulating trucking and airlines to promote competition, establishing full diplomatic relations with China , and the Panama canal treaties. There are a pile of modern presidents that did not accomplish half that.
I’ve been tossing this question around and need help. Is there a point musically or artistically where we can still enjoy someone’s music before they became horrible people? I call it my Kanye Rule. I love College dropout and some early stuff before he went insane. The qiestion is once someone sucks can you enjoy their stuff before that? Diddy is the new one. I love his Biggie and Bad Boy stuff, but now that we know he’s a sex creep, do we have to eliminate his entire library, or can I still dig Mobb Deep and 112? This kept me up last night.
shitty people can make good art. if you audited everything you engaged with in art you'd have very little left. woody Allen sucks but
Stranglehold is the perfect example. Nugent is a piece of shit, terrible person, but I still have ears.
I love calling it the Kanye rule like people haven't been talented monsters since the beginning of time.
It's a great question. I have tried to vote with my wallet (avoided Kanye music for years, don't buy Nestle products intentionally, avoid the restaurants that I know had problems, etc) but I reached critical capacity sometime this year and essentially gave up Every company sucks and half the country are racist/fascist. You can't avoid it anymore. It's just not worth the mental health drain
I’ve always loved grunt style apparel’s aesthetic, but hated their politics. I avoided them for the longest time, but their shirts are just too clean and I eventually gave in and bought their whole collection.
Richard Wagner was an unapologetic antisemite and Hitler loved his music. Okay, so maybe you don't listen to anymore Wagner because of that. But what about people who Wagner directly or indirectly influenced? How far removed do you need to be to get "clean" enough? I've thought about this a decent amount because there are some bad people in the extreme metal subgenres I like, and like npr said, I think life is too short to be worrying about stuff like that. It's not like you're endorsing their behavior. It's come up a few times in the metal thread and not everyone agrees. The other side would say consuming art is a conscious choice and there are other options. I'm not sure which one is right
when i read mein kempf in public i make sure to sigh and shake my head in disapproval so everyone knows i do not endorse the writer’s political views
I make sure and virtue signal every ethical purchase and consumption choice I make while turning a blind eye to all of the other choices I make.
On the flip side, I’ve always hated icp’s politics, but I’ll be darned if I’m gonna let that stop me from painting my face, chugging faygo, and hollerin’ whoop whoop at the gathering each and every year
the unfortunate part is that your typing history outed your use of that word cow nogs all over again #scandal

God help me if I have to cut the works of Sean John Puffy Puff Daddy P. Diddy Diddy Combs out of my listening rotation just because he drugged, raped and trafficked dozens of children. What next?
Well that's not going to end well. A generation of betas running around. I can just hear the Andrew Tate now advertising how to go from being a beta male to an alpha male
Been feeling like dogshit for almost 2 weeks now and let me tell you hot tea + fresh lemon + honey + bourbon is really an elite drink to clear you out.
