I’ve been meaning to try the Brandon Sanderson storm light series, any thoughts on giving the first book there a go, or have you guys read it?

We have a thread dedicated to the series and to Brandon Sanderson’s work in general if that shows how highly we all regard him.

He’s the best in the business and Stormlight Archive is his magnum opus.

Worth reading his other works as well, because they all tie in together in one big universe. The man is a genius.

The first book is The Way of Kings, it hooked me immediately, but others said it took them a little while to get fully hooked, either way it gets everyone eventually.

The 4th book in the series just came out last month so there’ll be some active convos going on but everything in the thread should be spoilered.

I’m rereading the first 3 right now before starting the 4th so it’s all fresh in my mind so I’ll be happy to discuss if you start.

tl:dr fuck yeah read them they’re great,

Spoiler free reaction. Finished five minutes ago. I'm pretty much with others here but I was so glad it ended. Will elaborate more later but this just didn't feel put together like RPO which I loved and own the movie. More like a collection of short stories where you may kind of like a couple and then really hate the others.

I also just hate how they talk. It's also jarring from their movie personalities.
