perfect cap to a pretty incredible and ridiculously busy 3 weeks if they manage to win the league you can go back and point to this stretch as one of the primary reasons why
Amazing stuff. This team really is fun to watch. I love what they are doing and Carlo deserves a ton of credit.
so like a third of the squad is out with Covid and Sunday's match may be in danger of being postponed
Match is still a go for today but Asensio, Modric, Rodrygo, Bale or Lunin because of Covid protocols and Carvajal out because of a muscle issue. Ancelotti mentioned in his PC that Hazard will start, presumably on the right, and my guess is Vazquez starts at RB
flat but what a bus parked by Cadiz. They should be banned from the top flight for hurting media negotiations. Absolutely anti-football.
It definitely sucks but unfortunately it’s worked time and again the last 3-4 years. For all of the creative talent and skill Real seem to possess they continue to struggle to break down low blocks like that. Taking away the ability to use pace to run in behind and clogging up the middle forces them to fire in crosses from the wings which just doesn’t work given this personnel. It’s beyond frustrating to see 83% possession, 35 shots, 10 on target but never really get the sense that they’re seriously threatening to score.
Alaba now out as well after testing positive. Casemiro out because of yellows means it'll be another makeshift lineup tomorrow
Will be a good test on the road so short handed. Vazquez has to be much better today going forward/with his delivery.
lucky deflection but great finish again hope that's just a bruised tailbone or something because he landed hard
god damn would have been nice had they finished one of those chances to close it out but a very nice road win all the same ending they year with an 8 point lead is very nice, now time to get guys healthy
almost deja vu again today need to bounce back strong against Valencia Saturday after 2 shaky performances to start the year
Vinicius and Benzema too good 300 goals for Benzema at Real is ridiculous but especially when you consider his role facilitating for and deferring to Ronaldo for a decade. Hell he’d be closer to 400 when you consider all of the penalties and FKs he’s given up over the years
el Clasico and Spanish Supercup time and just the way you all like it -live from central Saudi Arabia
Thought Marca's cover honoring Paco Gento was p cool. It's hard to compare players across different generations but he was definitely a club legend and one of (if not the greatest) Spanish players ever and still the only person to ever have won 6 European Cups.
What do we make of the struggles of the Camavinga Valverde midfield? Just not enough game minutes to gel? Inevitable decline compared to any two of Modric, Casemiro, and Kroos?
Camavinga is still very young and while he shows promise driving forward with the ball he struggles when forced to come deeper and is forced to deal with pressure. Gets caught on the ball far to easily. Valverde is more of classic a box to box player and while he has done well playing on the right flank before he's nowhere near as dynamic as either Kroos or Modric on the ball.
thought replay showed Marcelo got the ball but it's moot horrific & shambolic effort by both Isco & Hazard (assuming that they're not just the same player at this point) on the right side to let them break in the first place
