Padget's courting of Ciara is pretty problematic looking back at it. she now has a very active OF career
I'd have to give a rewatch but I believe the story was he worked on her family's boat while she was growing up then immediately started dating her when she turned 18. Obviously it's the timing that makes it seem off
Season 1 of Sailing Yacht. Jenna is dealing with 1 or 2 stews who probably aren’t the best but Jenna does suck. No regard for managing her stews issues or personalities and totally unprofessional messing with Adam seemingly constantly. She sucked and Glenn should’ve nipped the issues much earlier in the season. edit: Funny, I missed this post. Adam is a lunatic but can be funny and is a good chef.
Making all the noises on top of the revolving door is probably disrespectful but if it was up to just the girls this would be an entirely boring show that got canceled. Kyle must have some crazy genetics because with the amount of sun and drinking he should look weathered and beat up.
How does that man blackout and maybe fall asleep in a chair 2 hours and was perfectly fine? West was dying rightfully so.
ALOT of time spent on the Ciara and West relationship and aftermath. I was a bit shocked at how much time they spent on it, but looking back there wasnt much that happened this season. I am also guessing that Paige told them to keep the Craig talk to a minimum and I am sure Lindsey and Carl did the same. The entire Lexi and Jesse situation is blah as I think she sucks, and was clearly not liked by the rest of the girls. Jesse did some dumb things but overall I don't think he was that much of a scumbag. His worst mistake was confiding in the other girls in the house as they threw him under the bus to Lexi.
they really need to hit their next casting decisions b/c Kyle and Amanda will eventually hang it up; Paige is too big of a prude now and a Netflix show; and Lindsay needs to be forced into retirement. cut Imrul, cut Gabby too. Lexie probably could add something to the show as an antagonist. Jessie and West are great. They just gotta find their next generation.
Yea sitting in that last seat again. I think she mildy sucks and is boring, and either cant get a man or doesnt hook up. but Ciara def has unspoken issues and that has cause the others to not connect with her. so basically her role is to wrap her arm around whomever the house villain is at the moment and offer to be at their defense against the clique.
Agree that they need to overhaul the cast as the current iteration of the show is not all that exciting. I don't know if they filmed them going out more in early seasons, but it seems they have leaned more and more into the house parties which seem to be to bland most of the time. I cannot imagine the producers love seeing Paige, Ciara and Amanda just constantly go to bed early, it offers nothing from an entertainment standpoint. Saw this mentioned somewhere else, but they need to just create a new "in the city" type show with the older cast and then redo the Summer House group. Move Kyle, Amanda, Carl, Paige and maybe Ciara over to the new show and keep Jesse & West on in Summer House with some crossover.
And agreed on Gabby, she is the absolute worst and brings nothing. She just leaches on to whoever is bringing the most unnecessary drama to the show, mostly that's been Lindsey but late this season it was Lexi. Gabby holding Lexi's hand during the reunion was hilariously cringe.
it gotten very tough for them to film places. Like the beach they went to, Heather Hills, is not nearly as good as their early season spots. Montauk basically wont let them over there at all now. House is in Sag Harbor - which a fantastic little downtown - but not a party vibe at all unless you are an aging Justin Timberlake. Seems like they have a few select clubs now, but none of the hotter spots. And also could just be a cast deal with they are content doing that given less than half the house goes our anymore.
I have always wondered, why do these cities fight against filming so hard? I remember it being a think with other shows I used to watch, Jersey Shore being one.
usually no financial incentive to permit it, its a nuisance, and the town writ large does not want the advertising and poor reputation that comes with a show like this; particularly beach communities on the south fork that have some of the wealthiest beach towns in america.
they are easily the best part of the show because they are funny and active. They also bring out the best part of Kyle where he can just be a regular dude and hang out. The problem with the show at this point is that the girls are boring, never do anything and are generally bitchy to any new female cast mates.
I'm glad West kinda grew some balls during the finale and called her out for throwing in shitting comments while contributing nothing. It's hilarious watching r/summerhouse. Had you not watched a moment of the show and went just off the comments you'd think Jesse was this evil monster
Lexi is one of those people who weaponizes therapy terms. I think that’s a pretty big thing with Zoomers.
100%. Took 1.5 seasons to even remember her name. Jesse either got super weird over Lexi or was making a calculated play to have relationship drama so he could have a bigger storyline. I’m sure it’s editing but I found it weird how often he himself brought up toe sucking - guy was holding on for dear life. Kyle was made for reality tv. Glad Carl and Paige are leaving. The girls never go out and now they don’t really film while the guys are out (kudos to Carl for being there at least). Cast has gotten stale.
carl isn’t leaving. It’s his sole source of income lol hopefully, gabby follows Lexi and Paige and leaves
Agreed... its just a bit jarring when the big cuts happen in the middle of things happening. This is also one of the most strange casts I can recall, curious to see how it all shakes out.
Youve nailed this with someone else too. She throws out words above her HS education and half the time Im like she's got no clue what those words mean.
Paige needed to go as she offered absolutely nothing other than good confessionals from time to time. The women constantly just going to/sitting in bed all of the time had to annoy producers. I do wonder what happens with Ciara now as she really got close to Paige and ended up being just as boring as her. I wish we could see what all happened off camera because most of the Jesse crazy statements seemed to happen off camera. I did find it funny how the girls in the rest of the house very clearly had his back in the reunion and are still close with him. Lexi just seemed to suck and I think shes far weirder than she seems at first glance. I too would be shocked if Cark left as it seems to be his primary income/fame, which would be important for his Soft Bar enterprise. Gabby can get fucked lol
I think soft bar still hasn’t launched and investors are like wtf. So he may be saving himself from the scrutiny.
I think it was a Hanlon’s Razor situation. Jesse was dumb and did dumb inconsiderate things. But, Lexi presumed malice in all of them.
crowdfunding restaurant ownership is a five alarm fire as restaurants are some of the worst investments available (particularly at the start of a recession)
Let me preface what I am about to say with the fact I understand this is all TV.. But this was always the strangest part of the entire situation. I never got/get the impression that Jesse was this manipulative of a person. An idiot who is not ready for a relationship, 100%. But I never would view him as someone that would intentionally do all of these things secretly to turn the cast and show against Lexi.
It seemed like all the guys were like wtf are you doing for most of the season, which prob says more than the girls having his back. Lexi would’ve been better off had that other gal not gotten iced out because she lied about her relationship situation. Like last year West and Jesse formed a quick bond in part by being new.
When viewed from this lens it was like Lexi just scrolled the reactionaries on Reddit and based her narrative around that. You'd like Jesse was some evil mastermind by reading r/summerhouse
