Well what you posted was dumb enough to keep me from reading further, but I see you came to your senses. Welcome the the GOAT 12
I see a lot of ways a 10-2 B12 non champ misses the playoff. Not always but it’s certainly not a shoe in.
Take it up with Dr. Google. https://extension.psu.edu/sweet-cor...e value of,Georgia, Washington, and Minnesota. "Based on the value of production, the top five sweet corn states are Florida, California, Georgia, Washington, and Minnesota."
Scheer runs the Arizona 247 site and was nails all through the last big12 round fwiw. No idea how reliable he is on something not directly related to Zona
There is no way FSU and Clemson with their infinitely better brands, superior football and constant communication and offers from the P2 are going to end up in the Big 12. No way, I tell you.
We’ll see what SEC commish Greg Sankey and B1G commish Tony Petitti have to say about this on their weekly calls with Clemson this week.
If they B12 we have to assume the B2 offers weren’t there. Unless they just want to maintain an easier path, which would be on brand for these two.
I’ve long assumed this. They aren’t as attractive to either the B1G or the SEC as they would like to think they are. UNC and UVA are the belles of the ball in the ACC.
Adding them would be a scream for B12 members. Cash the first check then start crying about needing another conference?
And I’ll say it again, if I were the B1G, the southern team I’m targeting is GA Tech. I think it makes sense for many reasons. Plus I’m hoping UVA and UNC end up in the SEC.
we really talking about markets instead of inventory? you think the B1G and SEC care more about moving into metro Atlanta or NC and VA over having FSU and Clemson take on the likes of OSU, Michigan, Penn St, Oregon, SC, etc or vs Bama, UGa, LSU, Texas, OU, etc? the networks are making these calls and they want the best tv ratings possible. of the top 18 in viewership, only 3 are non P2 programs
You seem to be confident that FSU will end up in one of the B1G or SEC. Good for you. One of us will be right and one of us will be wrong about that. Only one of us will be upset if we’re wrong though.
My point about Tech was not about capturing the “Atlanta TV market”. Y’all are the ones focused on that.
I do think more connection to southern potential student centers via athletics is a factor for B1G expansion. Also why UVA / UNC would be the most attractive I think for B1G presidents. It’s not the only factor but I do think it is a consideration for a rust belt conference with some population decline
Again, I believe there are many reasons why Ga Tech makes sense for the B1G. And yes, I do think academic profile and cultural fit will matter a lot for B1G membership. At least it seems to have up to this point. And I said I think UNC and UVA are the most desired ACC schools by the B1G and SEC, and that I hope they both end up in the SEC. After those two, Tech makes the most sense to me for the B1G.
