I watched it all the way through. Spoiler First, it’s a new story with mostly new characters. The games are supposedly cannon to the series but they’re set in past. I thought the pacing was bad. That’s a common problem with these types of shows. They take a 2 hour movie and stretch it out to 8-10 hours via episodes. It jumps back and forth between 2022 and “today” 14 years in the future. They leave you hanging at times to build suspense when they bounce back and forth. They provide some limited data linking the games (RC incident, RC destroyed by Nike, Wesker killed in a volcano) There is some uproar over the fact that Wesker was race swapped but honestly, Lance Reddick was one of the best things about this series. As stated, this is an original story which a lot of folks don’t like. I don’t mind that but I think this story isn’t that great. It has its moments but it’s just too choppy. Ultimately, it gave me something to do for several hours so I give it a C+.
If you have 8 hours to burn and you know it’s an original story that only really references the games then sure. I didn’t hate it so
I could listen to the cop from the wire boss people around all day that guys voice is so god damned alpha
I would also say that despite all the issues I have with this series, it left like 6 damn cliff hangers in the narrative so now I hope the bastards get a second season just so I can see what that was all about.
Don’t worry, you still have the RE4 remake. Which we should’ve gotten after the Code Veronica remake but hey, who cares? As long as it’s as good as the RE2 remake
RE4 was good, but I won’t forgive it for being the downfall of the series. 1. RE1 Remake 2. RE2 98 (remake was very good, but lack of true AB scenarios hurts) 3. Code Veronica 4. RE3 5. RE7
