Line opened at OU -4.5 (in some books -5). 85% of money is on OU. Reverse line movement in favor of Texas (OU -3.5 now). Bet Texas, 2 units. I would have said a big play 4-5 units, but I have a hard time doing that after how let down I was last week against UCLA. I think people are forgetting that OU has looked pretty miserable as well (Utah State at home, Air Force at home). OU whipped FSU into submission, but FSU was terribly overrated going into that game and has zero defense. Last year's RRS was a defensive BATTLE. OU's defense has been terrible this year (ranked 93 in the country). Texas' D has played very well (ranked 2nd in the country), up until the second half against UCLA when they were fucking dog tired. However, with how bad Texas' offense has looked, the game will probably revert back to last year's defensive struggle, decided by 3 points or less.
I'm not impressed with either team so far. Texas owns Oklahoma right now and you know they are gonna be ready but this is the 1 year I can see Oklahoma beating them. Landry is straight shit vs quality competiton and the Texas offense has looked like straight shit period. If I play anything it's gonna be for fun. Couldn't have less of a read on a game than this 1.
I have to admit that I have no idea who to bet in this game. Texas has been completely unimpressive especially offensively all year and Oklahoma has played one good game this season as well. Should be an interesting game but very hard to predict what will happen.
I got them at like +1200 preseason and Landry to win the Heisman +2000. They have an incredibly easy schedule. I am not high on Texas and expect OU to beat them. Then go look at their schedule. They play no one until the Big 12 Championship against Nebraska more than likely. If they go 13-0 they will make the championship IMO. OU vs. Ohio State was my prediction
i can respect that due to the easy schedule, but you said they were your national championship pick. meaning you think they win the national championship. to me that is funny. but good luck on your picks, those are great odds.
I think OSU wins it all this year personally and Pryor wins the Heisman. But those bets have the worse odds I can remember for MNC and a Heisman (+300) I just loved Oklahomas odds to start the year because I feel like they will be 13-0 and with that Landry will be in the Heisman race.
Despite the RLM the play here is Oklahoma or nothing. I'm leaning towards nothing but that could change if I can get the Sooners at -3 or less. Both teams have been unimpressive but Oklahoma has shown more potential that Texas imv.
The line opened at -2.5. There is no reverse line movement in this game. It got as high as -4.5 at one point and has since moved back down a point and settled at 3.5. The early/smart money being bet pushed the line up to 4.5 to begin with. Also Texas has shown absolutely nothing all year to deserve money in this game. They very well may cover/win but I'm not in the business of betting on teams to do something that they haven't done the first 4 weeks of the season.
Yeah, I'm undecided on this game as well. Not impressed by Texas but my main problem is that Oklahoma has been just as meh if you factor out the Florida State game.
Can't choose to factor out FSU tho. OK has shown that they're capable of playing at a very high level and dominating a top 20-25 caliber opponent. Texas has not shown that ability. I bet OU -2.5 and will pretty much pay to see UT play their best game of the season against by far the best competition they have seen.
FSU is terrible on defense. Overall I agree with you. However, Texas' offense looked good at Tech, at times. Texas started out throwing vertical, and two tipped passes for INT later, Texas clinched it's asshole.
What do we base FSU being a top 20-25 opponent though? The fact that they have the most posted in thread on the board? The fact is they are a 6-6 football team from last year that was blown out this year by the only real team they have played. They have a terrible defense and their offense hasn't played at anywhere near the level they were expected to.
I make no assessments of FSU on their MB fanbase. I think they're top 3 in the ACC. The offense is good enough and the defense will continue to get better. They did just hold Wake Forest to 185 total yards last week. That has to count for something.
