they were married before amazon, but he was still like an SVP at some Wall Street firm. meaning, he was still in a position where he would have had her sign a prenup. so my question was how that holds up when someone goes from "pretty wealthy" to one of the richest men in the world. I think it's all moot though as it seems they have come to an agreement outside of any prenup.
Yeah - he definitely doesn't have the cash on hand to pay out what she's entitled to and there were concerns about control of the company if he had to transfer her shares. Don't know if we'll ever find out but definitely interested in what her payout will be.
I thought they worked together at the hedge fund and were essentially equals at the time, but I could be wrong.

Exactly. At that ridiculous level of wealth, the only reason they wouldn't just decide to just let her spend whatever she wants is if she hates him and wants to drag it through court just to mess with him. Doesn't appear that's the case.
I just saw "I have my joke ready.....that ain't the amazon, it's the park at my old elementary school ."
Everything I’ve read about him is that he’s pretty well adjusted and really focused on philanthropy. The foundation he has with his wife has done a lot of good in this world.
If my Amazon shipments are any indication, he has to use padding to make sure the item doesn’t slide around in the oversized package.
He’s a better guy than me because if I had that much money I’d be chilling in my mansion sitting on a literal throne while heckling domestic staff
Her stake in Amazon is $36 billion. Doesn't say how much cash she gets. https://news.yahoo.com/jeff-bezos-retain-75-percent-couples-amazon-stake-173120698--finance.html
This is a fun exercise. Let’s assume my net worth is $1M. Now let’s assume her net worth is $36B. Her buying a Mercedes-Benz Maybach Exelero ($8M price tag) is proportional to me purchasing... Spoiler A $222 dinner at my favorite restaurant.
Her buying my house is the equivalent of me buying a pack of chewing gum. If I can find a pack of gum for 83 cents.
