Comments are saying you don't register with a party in IL, that it just means he voted in the Republican primary.
“I was the first person they called, actually. Before the smoke, even. So, we’re very honored and look forward to him visiting.”
This is fucking hilarious. I still am 3 pages behind, but I just love how dbl, who knows absolutely nothing about anything in this thread, is trying so fucking hard to look like he does.
So I mentioned different monastic orders earlier in this thread, and particularly that Francis was the first Jesuit pope. Well, Leo XIV is the first Augustinian pope. While not started by him, Augustinians follow the teachings of Augustine of Hippo. I mentioned that Jesuits are known for education and social justice, which both drove their mission work, and that Franciscans are known for asceticism and service to the poor. Well, Augustinians are known for being all about community, both celebrating it and serving it. You can expect Leo XIV to be a community builder not divider. So yes, he’s very much anti-Trump in that way.
my vet, who's hard of hearing: can you repeat your cat's name me:— derek guy (@dieworkwear.bsky.social) 2025-05-08T20:42:45.195Z Just does not miss
Hoping the next election goes the same way as the pope voting. Trump wanted it to be himself; ended up as a half-American from Chicago Spoiler
All I’m saying is I’m sure I’ve heard a drunken Bob Prevost from the Southside call into a Bears postgame show hundreds of times.
Was watching the news just now and a friend of the new Pope texted and asked if he's a White Sox or Cubs fan. He texted back Sox. So that will be the thread icon. TYFYS
