You know your bullpen is going to be absolute shit when your best reliever was signed to a 1 yr, $2.2 million deal in February
Shoulda just held tryouts for the 'pen. No throwing, just 40 yard dashes. Mold everything about this team around speed. Foot speed. Our bullpen might suck, but we'll get those fellows out to the mound quickly and back into the clubhouse quickly.
Not that I disagree at all that the pen will be shitty, but the new FA market changes the calculus a bit. Guys are signing cheaper and later than ever, so getting additional guys after ST starts isn't exactly a bad thing.
Oh I don't disagree at all. The new FA market is bizarre and they're going to need to fix it moving forward. I just find it funny that our best two relievers were both signed in the past few days. They're the kind of guys other teams would sign as a 6th/7th inning guy and Loogy. But for us, we have a closer and setup man!
Sounds like the royals made them delete any mentions of “Royals” or “KC” because we have a deal with Sprint.
don’t need to mention the city/team when Verizon is just going to run that ad in the region and targeted social media towards fans of the team. Royals have deals with t mobile and sprint
The 2014 WC game will always be one of the best games to watch as a Royals fan, but I don't know how you could possibly vote for that over winning the damn World Series.
They keep saying he’s raking so far in ST. They also say Zimmer is finally healthy. They say a lot of things.
Let's not undersell Salvy, he's a good player. But you're right in that he is overrated by just about everyone in KC and the industry. As a hitter and defender, he's above average as a catcher. But when he moves to 1B/DH he's going to be below league average. With this injury, I feel like we have seen the end of Salvy's good catching days.
Love me some Salvy, but yeah he's a lil overrated. Really wish he could be just 'below average' instead of 'worse than esky' at drawing walks. If that was the case, and he could stay healthy for another 4 seasons or so, we'd be looking at an almost lock in the Hall.
We’re going to suck no matter what. Hopefully a rest year let’s Salvys knees muster out a couple more years till MJ is ready.
he’s good at framing and defense and can’t hit so he’ll fit in nicely with the 7 other .220 hitters in the lineup
I don't mind the Maldonado signing. Good defender that can't hit which seems like a better option than Gallagher, who can't defend or hit. He'll be gone at the deadline anyway and then we can see if Viloria is ready to get some at-bats.
Who says this team doesn’t spend money? We just added the third most expensive reliever in the league!!!
