Downtown K. Tear down arrowhead and build a new Arrowhead with retractable roof in the center of the stadium area. Huge lots to tailgate but also room for an entertainment district/stores/shops. Super Bowl and another All-Star game guaranteed. Yes please.

I would rather them salvage Arrowhead but develop the rest of the property. Arrowhead is one of the most iconic stadiums in the NFL and I would hate to demo it just to move it a couple hundred feet. There is so much property there to accomodate everything else.

But what kind of development would you guys put there?

There isn't any residential area or anything around there to support a shopping center or anything, and you have all that development just down the road at 470/70. It makes zero sense to try to turn the area around Arrowhead into anything at this point.

I love what Philadelphia has done with their stadiums - basically a P&L type place right in the middle of their sports complex. The main difference is, they also have an NBA and NHL team in the same complex to support the thing, and they have public transportation to get there.

Something like that would be fantastic in between the K and Arrowhead, but it would only be used about 90 nights of the year. Just doesn't make sense.

Any hopes of developing anything near the stadiums is a complete pipe dream. Mostly because that part of town is a complete shit hole that nobody would ever even think about going to unless it is to the K or Arrowhead. Or to get meth.

The development would be the same as Kraft did around Gillette. Outlet mall, something like a bass pro, a movie theater, a couple hotels, a chief hall of game museum. If they kept Arrowhead they’re going to have to find a way to retrofit a retractable roof. The NFL already said we’d get a Super Bowl if we had an enclosed stadium. And then concert/events could be played their year around.

Literally all of that (minus the Chiefs HOF) is right down the road at 470 & 70.

    That ship sailed decades ago.

Kuntz back at first and Jersch off of third. Can’t complain about that. I thought something happened to Rusty’s eyesight and that’s why he left? Maybe he got lasik or something, maybe that was just a BS excuse.

I'm guessing he didn't want to slog through a 100 loss season, and that his time off was either boring or he expects more from the team this year.

Fine with it because he's just a bullpen piece but I really hope we don't do the same shit we did last year signing aging vets to bad contracts and taking playing time/development from younger players. I'd rather see Phillips or Bubba hit .220 than Billy Hamilton. What we did last year was basically what the Knicks did in the offseason. If you go Knicks when you're supposed to pizza, you're gonna have a bad time.

It's $3M, so it's a nothing burger. And his low OBP certainly fits into Dayton Moore's philosophy.

This is a perfect DM signing. League average at best bat, below average glove, attitude problems in the past, now moving other position players around to positions where they are a worse fit and their bat doesn't play as well. Plus taking at bats away from guys like Phillips or Bubba who we are still trying to figure out.

    Just fantastic GMing all around.

I think it was Royals Review that did a story on all the "small" contracts we have given out in the last 3 years and it totaled up to a pretty significant amount of money with little to no production. This is just another example of a dumb contract given to a bad player that stunts the development of someone we should be grooming. So he's gonna play 3B and we are going to move Dozier around the diamond? Seems incredibly stupid. Dozier and Mondesi should be our left side for the next 5 years. DMGM is the Joe Flacco of being a GM. You found lightning in a bottle once and won a championship and for some reason people think you're good. Just move on before people realize you aren't.

Just saw a report that we were deciding between Travis Shaw and Maikel Franco and that we went for Franco because he was $2 million cheaper lol. Shaw's season last year was a trainwreck due to injury and lineup fluctuation but he averaged 4.0 WAR the previous two years and hit 31 and 32 HR.

Meanwhile, Franco has tore it up with a COMBINED -0.9 WAR in the last 3 years. In 656 career games he has amassed a stellar 1.6 WAR

    Jim Bowden’s top 50:

    10. Bobby Witt Jr., SS, Kansas City Royals
    Age: 19 Height: 6-1 Weight: 190 Bats: R Throws: R

    Scouting Grades:
    ARM: 65 FLD: 60 HIT: 50 PWR: 70 RUN:60

    2019 Stats (Rk):
    Slash: .262/.317/.354 2B: 2 3B: 5 HR: 1 RBI:27 SB: 9

Witt is the full package: an elite defender at shortstop with a strong arm from the hole and above-average range to both sides. He has quick feet and quick hands. His power at the plate is staggering, and it’s foul pole to foul pole. He can run and is smart on the bases. His hit tool is his only average tool right now — all of his other tools are above or well-above average. He’s an exciting, middle-of-the-order future bat.

J.J. Picollo, VP/Assistant GM, Royals:“Bobby is an incredible athlete with instincts, feel and tools for the game. He plays the game the right way: with passion and energy. He’s physical, has quickness in his feet, excellent hands to go along with a middle-of-the-order bat. He has advanced pitch recognition, can hit a plus fastball and makes hard contact. His swing is simple, and he has an excellent approach. He’s a learner and comes to the park to get better every day.”

    47. Brady Singer, RHP, Kansas City Royals
    Age: 23 Height: 6-5 Weight: 210 Bats: R Throws: R

    Scouting Grades:
    FB: 60 SLI: 60 CH: 50 CTL: 55 CMND: 55

    2019 Stats (A+/AA):
    W-L: 12-5 ERA: 2.85 IP: 148.1 H: 137 BB:39 SO: 138

Singer is a strike-thrower who has a mid-90s fastball and an above-average slider that he can add and subtract to and use efficiently on both sides of the plate. His changeup made incredible leaps this year, and now it’s so good that he feels comfortable using it at any time. He’ll be ready for the major leagues sometime this year.

Picollo: “Brady is an excellent competitor with a plus fastball and slider. He repeats his delivery well, makes adjustments mid-game and throws a ton of strikes. He can use his slider in different ways. He can back off for a strike, backdoor it for a strike and then throw the shorter, harder breaker just out of the zone and add to that for the chase slider. In a short period of time, his changeup has improved and is now a pitch he will use in any count. He has excellent feel for the strike zone and just keeps coming at hitters.”

Sounds like Kiera had a hard luck outing (dropped fly ball, couple Texas leaguers). Also sounds like Singer looked outstanding.
