Despite being discussed in at least one other thread, it seems clear to me that this show is easily good enough to warrant its own thread. Groundhog Day meets Maniac meets The Good Place meets Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Definitely bingeworthy and good for at least one rewatch. Awesome soundtrack, too. In my opinion, best new show of the last year.
This was a very good show. Lyonne said she had a 3 year plan if the show were to continue but I think it works really well as a one season show.
I agree that it works as a one-season show, but I'd be shocked if that turns out to be the case. The second season has limitless opportunities, and the first has been a critical darling.
I absolutely loved this show. I thought for sure that Spoiler at the end, during the split-screen, Nadia and Alan were going to be wiped out by a bus or something. Not sure if it was better that they weren't.
Just finished it tonight. Binged in over the last two nights. Spoiler in the final scene, during the parade, they walk past 2 Nadia’s wearing old Nadia’s jacket. No idea what a season 2 would look like, but I was all aboard for this ride. Show is entertaining until the end of episode 3, when it gets mesmerizing, and holds your attention the rest of the season. Well done.
I don’t know what the ending means. Loved the show but I whiffed on the ending/last episode as to what was going on
Tons of write-ups on it but basically... Spoiler the show really gets great when Alan and Nadia meet. For the next 5 episodes, they face everything together and that ability to let another person in is what basically allows them to come to terms with what they have to do to stop their world from falling apart When they finally do those respective things, they’re then left with a bigger challenge, rescuing the other by themselves. Nadia talks about different universes and different versions of herself existing in them...each gets the version of the other than never fixed themselves. At the end, they help each other, and their worlds converge as they walk through the tunnel(note their attire in the final scenes).
i like the theory that Spoiler they're both dead (or at least those versions of them) and that's why they're randomly in the dia de muertos parade. i think i read a half-convincing article about that. liked the show a lot. kind of hope it's a self-contained show and there aren't sequels but we'll see what happens.
I wasn't going to watch because i thought the premise, while fascinating, had the potential to leave us needing more if the show didn't return. I'm just one of those types that needs closure at some point. I tried it based on the reviews here and I'm glad I did. It was an easy one night binge. It was beautifully written, acted and filmed. Lyonne is very underrated as an actress. I was happy with the end and satisfied if that's it, but i really hope there's more without making the next storyline feel too forced.
Watched the trailer and then rewatched last season with my partner because she’d never seen it. I know some of the same characters on it but I struggled to get hyped for a second season. I’ll get around to it eventually.
