Dint follow basketball recruiting much, but is it safe to say that this kid is much better than his rating?
Sounds like he's committed, but still open to other places. Typically something you don't see in the basketball space.
If this is true, Warren doesn't flake, and Dylan pulls the trigger - my brain can't comprehend this. Add Gavin in, and holy shit.
Guys this is monumental. A player with a legitimate claim for being the best player in his class. A 100% one and done. I would assume this is the best recruit we've ever gotten in any sport, ever (maybe Phil Sellers? idk) Sounds like Geo's org came through with the NIL deal. Man, if we have a bag man for basketball now, all bets are off.
This is legit. Unreal recruiting job by Pike and this helps a TON with gettin Harper too. Also helps Duke is totally shitting the bed without Coach K
I remember the Fred Hill Jr days when literally the only kid on the team that could dunk was N'Diaye. Now we got pogo sticks.
Can someone who has an active scout or rivals subscription please start a thread about how winning is great, but now I can't get tickets and soon most fans and I won't even be able to afford tickets at all? Put something in the body about how are we really experiencing a Renaissance if we can't actually be there to experience it? Then throw in that you used to go to 2 or 3 games a year but have been in 9 years.
Do not sleep on Dellquan Warren. Kid has brass balls and can jump out of the gym. He's the best PG prospect we've had in the modern era. I just read he's actively looking around even though he's committed though. Don't know what to make of that.
Agree on him being absurdly underrated. He looks like a top 50 kid on video. If we found sufficient NIL for Ace, I'm hopeful we'll find it for him as well. I think the fact that Dylan is probably less focused on NIL than your typical top 10 recruit could end up helping us as well since we can probably be a little flexible on NIL allocation. I say we just take whatever NIL we have for football and say fuck it and just put it all towards basketball for the next 1-2 years. My fever dream of a Bailey, Harper, Warren class from three weeks ago turned into semi-reality pretty quickly. We could be looking at a 2024 lineup of: PG: Warren/Simpson SG: Harper SF: Griffiths PF: Bailey C: Theoretically, Cliff will still have eligibility, but I'm assuming he bounces for the NBA after this year (although he's been pretty average as of late). Either way, we'll have a Woolfolk/Ndongo combo at minimum. I think that lineup is good enough to win the BIG and then some.
I'm honestly stunned that we've been able to retain Knight for this long. He could have/should have been a head coach somewhere probably 3 years ago. It's going to suck when he inevitably gets a HC gig.
Kid committed in the lockeroom IMMEDIATELY after an emotional OT win. I want to believe desperately, but color me skeptical that it'll stick once a slimebag like Cal drops a bigger bag in his lap.
I'm semi-confident he sticks. This isn't some under the radar kid that we got in on early. Everyone knows who he is. Any bags that were going to be dropped have probably been dropped already IMO. Also, it's been known for a while now that it was either us or Auburn. I know the guy who reported it first said that Kentucky was involved, but I don't think they really were at this point. I think we can fend off Auburn if they continue to poke around. We need to get Dylan committed. Once they're both in, I think it'll be that much tougher for either to end up elsewhere.
This is pure insanity. Never in a million years did I think RU bball would get a 5 star, let alone one in back to back classes.
Btw, really nervous for tonight's game. Playing at Breslin scares me more than playing at Mackey for some reason.
Beat that Nittany ass! Anybody else enjoy PSU coach passive aggressively complain about not getting calls and then storm off the dais in his post game presser?
Pike is about to fuck around and get an actual Fab 5 class for 2024. We're in Naas Cunninghams' top 5 out of nowhere and getting an OV from Kur Teng.
