Wasn't able to see the game, but that's a potential season saving road win right there. Losing Mag really fucked this season up.
Team went to shit for a couple weeks there. Really sucks because the rest of the big 10 also imploded around them.
Also Pike's late game strategy is awful. They have 5.8 to get down the court, you challenge full court all game, all season and you let them roll it to half court?
I’ve seen enough Paul Mulcahy. Will be very happy to see him go pro in something other than basketball next year.
Can, but he really needs to be told not to. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a primary ball handler with less athleticism. If you’re going to be a slow, unathletic white guy playing high level college basketball you better be able to shoot the lights out, or be a 7 footer. He is neither.
The Mag injury made it easier for teams to guard him with someone his size instead of him being able to bully an opposing 6' pg to the rim. That and he got cyberbullied off the internet for trying to trip that guy on Indiana and hasn't looked nearly as confident.
Don't choke against Minnesota and they're in. Even the Ohio State screw job would be nothing if our 27yo team leader and Mulcahey didn't brick clutch foul shots. Lost to Nebraska bad. Lost horribly at home to Northwestern. We didn't get screwed.
Not disagreeing with you, but with our same resume, you think a bigger name school like UNC would have been left out?
I have an extra ticket tomorrow night for the NIT game in the 100s if anyone is looking to go. My buddy backed out and my GF can't make it, so now I have an extra. Hit me up if youre interested
Caleb is 23, not sure where the 27 number came from… https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Caleb-McConnell/Summary/104410
if anyone hasn't listened/seen yet, i interviewed pat hobbs yesterday and he gave some great answers to questions all of us have been asking recently...
Hats off to Hostra, they played like they wanted it more. Hate to see Caleb go out like this but looking forward to next year’s line up where we don’t have two perimeter players that can’t score from the perimeter. Either we have one (Paul) or perhaps none. Lots of guys in the portal with NJ ties that could help this team immediately. Will be interesting to see if Pike can convince one or two of them to come on board. Of course that would require a few current players to move on. Would think Palmquist, Reiber, Miller and possibly Hyatt are all candidates to move on. Not holding my breath that Cliff comes back but if he does that would be big. At this point, wouldn’t be upset if Paul came back, but it feels like he’s hit his ceiling as a player and it’s that of a role player on a decent B1G team. Not a starter playing 30+.
Hahah thanks man, she likes to crash the show. If I had to guess, Caleb, Paul, Reiber and Jalen Miller are gone. Hyatt and Oskar could be too. We'll be a much different looking team in 23-24
Stopped by the rivals bball board quickly tonight. Some of our fans are legitimately brain dead, saying that Gavin will be starting "by January." He's a five star. He's starting day one.
