The thing that i don't get is that we have grad level transfers in so many key positions so its not like we are building for the future. Might as well start lewis. If lewis throws those picks i chalk em up to growing pains. When 5th year bolin does it makes me wanna smash my tv.
I don't think ash deserves the hot seat but he certainly deserves the abuse of this loss. No excuses. Woof
teel is currently busy in a pitcher of yunegling and trimming his finger nails. Can I take a message.... We're both in denile at what transpired today. Zero flow to the game. Wtf was that?
Context.... A chick went up to teel and said, in so many words, you would never finger me with those finger nails.....
$100 says Bolin is not starting at the end of the year. He does not have the arm strength and forces throws. He smells like an INT machine to me. Unless he goes 2-10 this year and next year, yes.
It is still early to form an opinion on his coaching style but in 14 games I don't really like a lot of what I see (shocking right since we've only won 2 games?) from a coaching aspect. We coach very milquetoast. No trick plays, nothing excited on special teams. Do we even blitz? Just very vanilla, boring style of football. Not a lot of energy. Players on O not knowing where to line up and constantly looking to the sideline for a play...just doesn't look good. STs....kicker and punter are better but I am not crazy about the scheme. We have Turay with a bigger vertical than I have ever seen and we just use him as a rush player now. D is improving and going in the right direction but we just do not blitz or stunt that often. I hate it. If Ash does not grow balls he won't make it as a HC. Punting AGAIN on the 35 yard line or 45 yard line on 4th and less than 5 yards. I am being patient this year...but ya know what? Purdue was getting out recruited by Kyle Flood and yet in Year 1 with little talent they just skull fvcked Ohio while we were in a death struggle with EMU in Year 2.
ash put himself in a no win situation. hes going on the hot seat starting year 3 even though he probably doesnt deserve it (lets be real we are 1-10 maybe 2-10 this year with minimal improvement. defense cannot get much better) which will affect his recruiting in that hes not going to be able to land enough talent at this time. hes becoming a zombie here, which is too bad because hes a very bright coach hes just not built for this job. i know hobbs is stunned and shocked at the season ticket decline for this year. he told his department we need a gift on the field this fall and things can change quickly and we can make it happen. the worst case scenario has happened and hobbs is certainly thinking it over right now. in the next cycle, we need to bring in an offensive guy. put up points. even if we are taking Ls, have an exciting game. selling this current status to recruits is useless
Everything about Ash's teams, offense and defense, is so predictable and boring. I have minimum knowledge of football and can accurately call their plays from a million miles away, so I can only imagine how easy it is to scout us. Besides the actual boring product on the field, Ash himself seems like the most boring coach in the NCAA. Whatever sport it is, the coach has to be a salesman and listening to him talk I think I'd fall asleep if he came into my house to try to recruit.
Shit. You were right man, they didn't bring it today. We looked awful today, this is unacceptable. Ash needs to get his shit together, there's no silver lining to this loss.
Who is going to take the job after you fired a highly regarded Power 5 assistant after two/three years?
So I'm going to be the homer and say the silver lining is this: can go anywhere but up from here, am I right
Also let's be real, before kick off we all were expecting (and would be happy) with a 4-6 win season. progress is what we want to see this season. Way to early in the season the say we can't still achieve that goal, it just got a fuck ton harder
we just have to continue adding talent. at some point, with the guys we (so far) are landing, we will start to hold our ground as the team gets stronger and faster. but god damn i miss going for it on fourth down every once in a while. in 2-3 years, ash will either get an increased assistant budget from the big ten revenue earmarked to go to athletics or we will spend some actual money on a top HC candidate. so i still see the entire trajectory as "up" in the meantime. i hope hobbs is working hard in ash's ear and is seeing the things we are seeing. whats sad is even though hobbs is one of the better AD's we've ever had, i could imagine a scenario where the fans and our wonderful media start to get on him if pikiell were to take a major step back this year.
I see the Rutgers women posted their sixth consecutive shut out… Anyone know anything about our team? Are we the Greece of women's college soccer?
as long as its not lewis related , like getting him kicked off the team or suspended or hurt then who really cares. seasons a wrap, time to rep the future
Ryan Dunleavy @rydunleavy Staff effort to run offense when Jerry Kill is out. Still in hospital. Ash stressed he'll be back soon. Contingency plan in place. #Rutgers
http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/i..._rutgers_oc_had_minor_seizure_after_taki.html Kill was supposedly hit on the sideline on that late hit call early in the game. A tumble apparently messed him up and he had a minor seizure. God almighty get him up into the booth.
Seriously..whose brilliant idea is it to have the health risk running up and down the sidelines. It's easier to call plays from the booth anyway.
I would hope it was his choice to try and remain on the sideline but now he needs to be told enough is enough.
Man I hope he's alright, Ash said he was all messed up the first half - probably can't call a game when you can't see straight. I think Rutgers is built on an old Indian burial ground or some shit....really bad mojo constantly.
At least this is somewhat of an explanation as to why we looked like total dogshit on O. It's no excuse mind you as we should be able to simply out muscle and out talent a MAC team but at least it gives you something to think about beyond just how shitty we looked.
So he just magically reverted to dogshit then? I'm so sick of our star players barely being average big ten members.
