A) Does Biddy hate Odom? Lmao @ that photo choice. B) It did not work out well when he tried to install a 3-2-6 at Mizzou. He abandoned it quickly
Arkansas will not be the only team to go in this direction. Heacocks defense at ISU is being studied by everyone right now. There’s something to be said for being different schematically in your league, esp when you’re at a deficit in terms of your personnel. I would be play a 4 down front if I recruited in Arkansas’s (really the whole SEC) footprint. Their recruiting “marketplace” is flush with interior DL every year.
Our 3-3-5 (which might as well have been a 3-2-6 with a 200 lb ILB) was really effective when we had undersized linebackers and a deep secondary. Then we stopped recruiting linebackers altogether.
He ran it at Memphis w good results. Just didn’t work out when he tried it in the SEC. or at least Missouri. Defense got so much better when he switched back to a 4-3, but really was more of a 4-2-5
There was an athletic article about how successful Baylor was by incorporating a lot of elements of that ISU defense into their scheme.
Boy going back and looking at devine, Taques talking about how terrible of a hire this was... under normal circumstances I’d question their intelligence but then I remembered one is a WV fan and the other has been in college longer than this board has existed
Haven't kept up with everyone, but I don't think a new coach has had so energizing a first year. Most, that I've seen, have struggled this year or have flown under the radar.
Was referring to uber shitbag Mike Leach and the Lane Train, but I haven't followed other news hires nationally. Just impressed that Arky should be 3-1 after being so bad for so long.
Yeah pittman looks like the best hire so far. Baylor is 2-1 but they were actually decent last year. I don't know who else you actually could out over him.
No question. I'm a horrible homer but even I was saying "I'd be happy just to steal a single win from anyone, just to end the losing streak." Winning three with more that are possible has been delightful.
So far... it's really damn early and these aren't normal times He seems nice, so I hope he's still the best hire a couple years from now I doubt Lane will be
He's a guy who's made his way around some major programs working magic with OL/crootin and no one has a bad word to say about the guy. He's just a true everyman with no bullshit.
Oh don't worry, he saw us in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Lets also not forget the all time series... which even with your 9 straight wins, we are still ahead by 9 wins al time.
