I was just fucking around but i do think uga and clemson fans should worry about it when the time comes i mean if sark went on to kill it I’d worry they’d try to take him too
you may be right but if uga had a few 2-3 loss seasons in a row and he had the opportunity to take over the most talented and best program might change things
Familiarity? Let’s say it’s two losses per season, one would be to them. That’s not a big turnoff imo. He’d still be churning out SEC champ game appearances and top 10 teams
I mean, first of all why would Bama want him and that scenario? Also, what's the difference between Bama with Kirby and Georgia now? Resource and recruiting wise they are pretty similar. One just has the GOAT head coach.
So the hope is Pittman can be the second calling of Frank Broyles because that guy was a wizard at developing and having great assistants on his staffs. That’s a big unknown but the biggest cure is winning and he’s doing that.
tbqh Odom was a great DC at Mizzou but his failure as HC clouded his resume a bit and Briles just has the curse of having his rape enabling daddy’s last name
I see Briles leaving after this year for sure. Odom has a son that is either a Soph or Jr at Shiloh Christian I believe. He loves is here and I know Sam will cut him whatever check he wants, and I don’t think he’s hurting too bad after getting $3 million from his Mizzou buyout and getting paid $1.75 million per year here through 2023. I could see him getting bumped to $2.5 though and sticking it out for one more year.
agreed. I think the writing is on the wall with Loggains coming on board that Pittman knows whats up and is preparing for that to be a pretty easy transition.
Yeah, I believe that was the first one I saw that drew an audible laugh from me. And it got 14 likes, oof.
This just in, Texas and Texas A&M are the equivalent to Western Kentucky. Reading through this thread again has me rolling.
I’ll admit, I was WAY wrong. I love this guy (Sam Pittman) and this team is my favorite since the McFadden or Matt Jones days… he’s made my Saturdays fun again.
not that I think he would but why is there 0 chance? Unless you just mean he isn’t leaving his Alma mater
Okay there's like a 5% chance because nothing is certain, but there are several reasons why I don't think he would be a good fit. One I think the hire will involve Saban's blessing, and they are no longer on good terms. If it's a former Saban assistant, I think he would be low on the list. A lot of UA boosters and alumni can't stand Kirby. Two I am not sure why Kirby would want the job. He played at Georgia and is from the state. In terms of money, recruiting advantages, etc. Georgia is very comparable. Historically they aren't shit compared to Bama of course, but they certainly provide an infrastructure for his success that very few programs do. I just don't see why he would betray his home state and alumni for a similar job. Basically only way Kirby leaves UGA is if he's fired for becoming mediocre (in which case we wouldn't want him) or if he goes to the NFL. For the record, I think he would be a bad NFL coach.
We're going full Lane Train, putting up 100 ppg for like 3 years while the roster is still loaded, then fizzling out after he gets fired for impregnating half of sorority row. We'll probably then hire some guy named Mike.
So far into the future of offense that a legitimate strategy will be letting the other team take an out route to the house so your defense is more rested at the end of the game.
I remember when he first took the GA job, Nick was salty because Kirby recruited the Bama guys he was on
Sark (assuming he does well, which i do think he will. finally found the right qb and looks great), kiffin, saban, and kiffin all in the same conference will be funny saban will try to beat them all by 50
He did a few things that essentially equated to spitting in Saban's face on the way out, but his constant tactics in recruiting against Saban since he got to Georgia have probably kept that bad taste in his mouth. People talk about Sark grabbing Banks, and Jimbo doing some things that supposedly pissed him off, but Saban still communicates with those guys regularly and genuinely wants them to have success by all accounts. Kirby is ruthless on the trail and is largely responsible for these constant contract extensions as he still cites his age and retirement being around the corner, and it is pretty convincing when he drops the "I worked for Nick for years and still keep in touch with him" line on them. I don't blame him at all, he feels like he doesn't need Nick anymore and it is an advantage he needs to win on some of those guys. He's the only former assistant that pushes this, and even guys like Dabo and Day don't seem to push the narratives with no real connection to him.
