Just my opinion, but if you're only in town visiting - don't do steaks in SF. I mean, you can and I'm sure it would be a good meal, but there's just a lot of other styles that SF does better. And you can find a good steak in a lot of places.

Agree with this, but I'm biased against steakhouses because imo, for what you get, it's rarely worth it. I'd totally hit one if a company was paying or something.

SF has world class basically everything, be adventurous.

Appreciate it. I may have asked about steak houses specifically, I don't remember. I have visited San Fransisco plenty over the past decade or so, so I am somewhat familiar with what to do.

We will be there for the Super Bowl. I was just trying to fill in some free time/meal time for Friday night and Saturday to treat my old man to a good dinner. I rarely, if ever, actually go to steakhouses ingeneral. I won't necessarily be looking to hit the town by myself Friday and Saturday nights. Just looking for some places to get good food and drink.

May just hit up the Squat and Gobble in the Castro

Not fine dining at all, but one of my favorite meal experiences was Don Pistos in SF. Their Hamburgesa was so fucking good and the place was so chill.

SF is my favorite city that I've been to in the US.

Hit this place while waiting for our reservation at Park Tavern, which is awesome also. Don Pistos for margaritas and chips + salsa was on point.

Church Key was prior to those two, little hole in the wall bar with great selection.

    My honeymoon was amazing.

Hopwater, mikkeller, or cellarmaker. All are ~1 mile. Cellarmaker probably a bit further. You should go to cellarmaker. Seriously, go to fucking cellarmaker.

The walk for a few blocks though, was filled with bums and people in wheelchairs.

Burritos in SF are good, but they don't hold a candles to those in San DieGo. Hell La Costena in Mountain View has better burritos than SF.

Surprised nobody mentioned the Slanted Door, Sodini's, Masa's, the Waterfront, Cafe Claude, La Fina Estampa, or Aziza
Slanted Door - Great Thai food and vegan friendly.
Sodini's - Great hole in the wall Italian restaurant in North Beach
Masa's - Expensive French restaurant with an insane wine list.
The Waterfront - Great seafood restaurant on Pier 7.
Cafe Claude - Great romantic spot on Claude Ln near Union Square French restaurant
La Fina Estampa- best Peruvian food in the city. Across the street from Tommy's Joynt, the famous stomping grounds of Metallica
Aziza- Used to be and may still be the only Michelin Moroccan restaurant in the US. Downside is that it is in outer Richmond district.

Plenty more places of course that I missed plus a few that shutdown like Medjool and Irrawaddy Burmese Cuisine.

I have zero experience with Michelin quality restaurants, but I'm heading to SF for a trip at the end of August and we've got a contact that can get us a reservation (I think they call it a ticket) if we want it. Looks to be worth the price tag from everything I've seen/read, but interested if any of yall have any experience.

No experience I've only heard amazing things.

I'd bail on Fisherman's Wharf and head to Polk St for drinks or North Beach for food. You can walk or Uber to either. Tons of tourist traps around the Wharf.

Stayed in LA the past few nights and used Lime/Bird scooters to get around Venice, Hollywood, and Santa Monica. Those things are great. I can imagine if you live here how annoyed you might be.

Also... the homeless problem around here is just wild.

I don't think there's another city that suits me like this place does <3

have gone to the following places for lunch over the past couple weeks:

    - Burma Superstar (wonderful but not something I would do consistently)
    - Uncle Boy's (awesome no-frills burger)
    - Green Chile Kitchen (huge burritos with green chili, really solid)
    - 4505 Burgers and BBQ (:fap: easily the best BBQ I have had west of KC....buy some bud at BASA Collective next door and hit up this spot if you can. Then catch a show at The Independent)

I really like how many cheap/less fancy Asian options there are on Irving and Noriega St. I love dicking around in Golden Gate Park and then venturing back down 19th to those areas

if you're in the Parkside/Sunset area you should walk down Taraval to Parkside Tavern or Underdogs Too and then smoke on Ocean Beach :ohgosh: Taraval has some awesome spots for coffee
