I don’t think anyone is hoping for anything here other than the health and well being of the students.
Parent talking to nbc saying multiple dead students and at least one dead teacher, and that shooter is a former student
fuck. Imagine putting a valentines note in your child's lunchbox then having them murdered at school that day. Fucking crushing.
Waiting for a politician or someone to stand up and say “right. Fuck this. No more. There will be armed guards at every door of every school and kids will be searched entering the building.” IDGAF if it “costs too much” or is an invasion of privacy or what but this has got to fucking stop.
There's really nothing else to say at this point. There will be some gun toting republican hypocrites pop in this thread eschewing turning this into a political argument, but after years of mass acts of gun terrorism, that's all it is, a political argument because one party allows this to continue happening unabated.
Because this is America and this country is quick to jump to conclusions. The commander in chief may even try to frame it as one. Who knows.
So mother fucking sad. I recently joined everytown in my community. If this makes you as sick as it makes me, I encourage you to do the same.
All 3 of Israel’s kids went there, I would imagine his press conference is going to be emotional for him
Organization that was created after newtown. A counter to the NRA. Does a lot of good work at the state and local level to push for common sense gun control as well as push back on the dickheads who are in the back pocket of the NRA
I believe Americans will spin this into an immigration and gun control debate since a Hispanic kid used a gun at school.
there's an instagram video from what looks like the kid who tweeted and it is horrifying show that video to every fucking politician and make them say "this doesn't bother me"
Like it would even matter. They may be bothered on the spot but when they get behind closed doors with the people they depend on for money/votes they will toe the line
it really feels like everyone in America will have to have some personal connection to a mass shooting before anyone changes their minds at this rate, that might not take too long
