Not to be an optimistic dumbass but feels a little like the floodgates might be opening here nothing will be done but still, opening some eyes to the SCOTUS nonsense can only help
LOL In addtion to the corruption the amount of money that flows around in these circles just seems nuts. Tax these motherfuckers to death.
Yeah it seems like this is going to get much worse. They've easily found multiple stories in just the last 24 hours
Fuck I don’t care if they replace every single SCOTUS justice. Fuck everyone of those assholes. The left leaning ones know people like Clarence should be thrown in a woodchipper and they choose decorum instead. Fuck them too.
Going to eventually reach a point where Democrats are going to be forced into commenting and maybe even doing something! Course they have to locate Feinstein first.
Come to Mexico guys, at least the corruption is just accepted as part of the game and they don't pretend it doesn't exist
Nothing will happen. There’s no political recourse other than impeachment (which won’t happen) and I’m sure there’s no legal recourse. These donors and societies have billions of dollars at their behest — untouchable.
All of this coming out back to back to back is interesting to me. None of it is surprising. But why now? Like the tweet above says, it all seems like low hanging fruit. Why did it take so long for anything to come out and now it's all coming out? Feels like someone was building a folder of shit for years and someone finally allowed it to be released.
In 2010, almost 20 years after the fact, she was still leaving unwanted voice mails on Anita Bill’s office phone. https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=130688438 Because her husband was a serial sexual harasser who used to compare himself to the black porn star Long Dong Silver.
i think a lot of it is that stories about Supreme Court justices don’t sell subscriptions and journalists in DC have spent the last ten years investigating Trump and Hillary.
I think also you do this for 30+ years and nothing ever happens to you, you prob get lazier and lazier with covering your tracks and you get more and more reckless with the corruption. Then the flood gates open
there's no way I can be convinced that Harlan Crow is a real person and not a character from Justified
Were this criminal court and a judge or prosecutor, all their previous rulings/cases would be reviewed. Seems we need to re-open quite a few decisions based on this info.
I feel like now is an excellent time for us to revisit the fact that nowhere in the constitution does it grant the Supreme Court the power of judicial review.
If Joe had any stones he’d go on tv and say fuck you im appointing 20 new SCOTUS judges and none of them are law dogs. Law dogs don’t go around here, savvy?
The Senate Judiciary Committee conducted a hearing this week to investigate corruption in the Supreme Court. Here’s why, and it’s actually quite shocking, and deeply disappointing: Justice Clarence Thomas secretly accepted luxury trips from a major GOP donor who also bought property from Clarence Thomas that he did not disclose. The GOP donor, Harlow Crow, had business before the court–Thomas did not recuse himself. Thomas’ wife, Ginni, has caused a slew of conflicts-of-interest including her part in attempting to overthrow the U.S. government, side income deals, and anonymous donations. Justice Brett Kavanaugh started off his SCOTUS run with 83 ethics complaints, not to mention sexual assault allegations. Justice Neil Gorsuch just happened to sell off property right after his SCOTUS confirmation to a law firm with business in front of the court–Gorsuch did not recuse himself. Justice Amy Coney Barrett received millions of dollars in support of her SCOTUS confirmation from a dark money group with business before the court–Coney Barrett did not recuse herself. Chief Justice John Roberts, the leader of the pack, also has conflicts-of-interest stemming from his spouse, Jane, who earned millions of dollars recruiting lawyers for firms who have business before the Supreme Court–Roberts did not recuse himself from those cases. So what did we get out of that hearing? Yes, Congress can pass ethical standards for the Supreme Court. In fact, it is their constitutional authority to do so. Supreme Court Justices must be held to account for flouting the ethical rules that apply to every other judge in the country. It is Congress’ constitutional right to ensure that. And it is our right to have our highest court in the land free of corruption.
Imagine the outrage if George Soros was funding relatives educates, buying property, and showering these judges with lavish vacations. Every GOP criticism is an admission of guilt
Spoilers: no one did a damn thing and then his wife tried to topple the government. But it is uncouth to mention all that.
