We're clearly headed for a national ban on abortion. Likely in 2025 (if not sooner), given that this SCOTUS decision, not coincidentally, dovetails with court decisions on new laws that destroy voting rights throughout the country. Like, try to get the vote out all you want, they aren't going to let black people vote and/or they'll just let State legislatures step in and nullify the decision of the voting public.
People thinking they'll be safe in California or New York from the Far Rights' coming reign of terror need to rid themselves of that notion immediately.

Every loyalty card, credit card, bank, social media platform, streaming service, app on your phone, tablet, smart watch, google, alexa, etc. Your TV takes a picture of your screen 20 times a second to understand what content you're consuming if you don't turn the settings off. I mean something like a clearly defined constitutional amendment instead of something determined to be in the inherent meaning of the constitution, simply for the exact issue we’re seeing right now.
You don’t (shouldn’t) need a constitutional amendment to codify what the constitution already protects. That’s a bullshit argument to justify a decision made in bad faith.

Fleshing the argument out a little bit more - the right to abortion is a function of the right to due process. Due process is an amorphous concept not further defined in the Constitution, nor will you find a definition for the three things due process protects - life, liberty, and property.
If your position is that abortion isn’t a right because it’s not spelled out in the Constitution, you are making the operation of due process subject to a super majority, which is the exact opposite way in which rights are protected.

Idk if you specifically meant my post in that, but I was operating under the assumption that this was basically the crux of this majority argument. I am by no means a lawyer, nor do I agree with the argument anyway, but if I’m wrong that this was the intent I’ll gladly take the L and learn from someone more knowledgeable.

That's pretty wild. Just had a friend go through IVF and they had to freeze the embryo bc she wasn't at the optimal time to get pregnant. Basically had to wait 4 weeks and they froze them while waiting.
As someone whose wife is 31.5 weeks pregnant through IVF with our first, absolutely insanity.
Good luck trying to tell her we have to get pregnant 6 times in that scenario.

If a majority of the Supreme Court decrees that Roe is, at its core, a subversion of American democracy, then there is some symmetry in the fact that four of the five Justices voting to end it were appointed by men who won the Presidency despite losing the popular vote, that three of them were appointed by a man who was twice impeached, and that one was appointed to an essentially stolen seat.
I know I said it earlier, but don’t forget the GOP nuked the filibuster to fill all 3 of Trump’s appointments.
